Forensic Evaluation, Trial, Lies........

Hello all.
Well ex has done it now. He wants to push for joint custody, doesnt want to settle the case as it is now. They are trying to say I have mental illness, and Im a liar. That I have misinformed the court on many issues and I have assaulted him on more than one occassion.

Ha! Im the crazy one. He wants a fight well than that's exactly what he's gonna get. Im tired of trying to mend the gap. He accused me of withholding visitation on three, three different times and never giving him a makeup. Ofcourse I stated the dates he got a makeup so the judge asked him in total how many visits did he have, he told her 7 out of the 8. She said what's going on here a minute ago you said you were missing three visits. She caught him in a lie, his lawyer said he cancelled only one visit on account of the big snow storm, but later on he said he never cancelled a visit.

Then they tried to say that I lied to the court about his carpeting allergy. That there is carpeting at the school and as a result they want the order changed so he can take the baby to his house and he also told them that my mom watches the baby and she is a chain smoker and the baby is allergic to smoke and he doesnt want the baby to go to her house. Well I was ready for the carpet issue, I had already got a letter from the school stating they pulled up the carpet from his classroom. When he started the school there was no carpet there, it's only a month old, so that didnt fly. Then as far as my mom being a chain smoker and her watching the baby, first off she doesnt watch him and second, she isnt a smoker, she has asthma and a heart condition and in on oxygen. So that didnt fly either. They also tried the "domestic violence" thing too, saying I assaulted him on one occassion and caused another altercation a second time.

Well the gloves are coming off, he wants to go the domestic violence route, I have copies of my police reports from the first violent incident where I called the police on him and as a result I got a restraining order against him because of an altercation. Then in the court building a month or so later he violated the R.O. by pulling my scarf from around my neck and he spent the night in jail. That s.o.b how could he do this. What is his problem. He is lying about so many things. How can you fight lies? This is just horrible.

Now I have to pay $200 as a portion for the forensic evaluation and he doesnt have to pay because they are saying he's a student. The good thing is I was able to get a different lawyer. So hopefully this one will be better, I feel a bit more comfortable so far with him.

So now it's going to be a fight. My God, have any of you had to do a forensic evaluation? Is there still a chance to settle without going to trial? How long did it take, what was the trial like. So many unknowns and they are scary as heck.
