Spiritual Beliefs

Many women that I have spoken with going through a divorce have told me they've found great solace in their church or personal spiritual beliefs. I really wasn't raised any religion. My dad's Jewish, my mom's Episcopalian. We celebrated Christmas, Easter, etc, but there was never any religious emphasis on them, and we never went to church or synagogue.
I don't know if anyone has tried this:
I though it was cool to see what faiths it says I was most closely aligned with!

What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi Christine!
Pianoguy would like to offer a male point of view....if you don't mind?
I honestly think there's solace and support in religion...providing the person (males as well as females) who has the belief doesn't expect GOD to completely remove the hurt in a few seconds?
There's definitely a "comfort zone" in practically every religion. All of us who are experiencing some horrible form of emotional pain REALLY NEED SUPPORT...AND I THINK FAITH IS A DEFINITE PROVIDER!
But there's also a time frame when each of us has to look at ourselves in the mirror and honestly admit when we made a bad choice...or if WE JUST SCREWED UP! Some people find the process difficult...others find it easy.
Having said this...PG recommends that every ivillager click on the link you've provided and answer the questions. Some of the questions really fascinated the heck out of me. But even more important, they gave me a clearer insight as to HOW MUCH FAITH I ACTUALLY HAVE?

The Belief-O-Matic thing was neat.... very interesting.
I grew up in a Methodist church.... but now I'm enjoying a more contemporary worship service at a church that's affiliated with the Assemblies of God.
