back child support questions

Hello everyone, new here and have questions about back child support. I live in oklahoma. My XH has never paid any child support since the divorce. My question is this -
he is on dissability, is he still responsible for paying support. A person I was talking to said that he did not have to pay since he is on SSI. My daughter recieves a payment from SSI because he is disabled.
Thanks so much
Silver

I think it varies by state, so I recommend that you contact your state's office of child support enforcement. I got out a SS Statement and regarding disability and family, it states, "If you're eleigible for disability or retirement benefits, your current or divorced spouse, minor children or adult children disabled before the age of 22 also may receive benefits. Each may qualify for up to 50% of your benefit amount--the total amount depends on how many family members qualify."
So, I'm not sure if that's an answer, but your children may be eligible to get something from him, even if for some reason, he is exempt from CS...
Good Luck!

He's definitely responsible for any support that was not paid prior to his disability... and I would check with child support services about the rest.
Good luck!
