After divorce what have most of you done with your wedding bands, and engagment rings? I have a 1 karat solitare...1 karat wedding band....and a 1 karat past, present, future ring.....ironic, I know. Do you all have any suggestions on what to do with these rings? I really don't want to sale them....I won't get nearly enough of what they are worth. Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm saving mine to give to my daughter when she's 18 or graduates from high school or college or something. My thinking is i will take the stones and have them set in another piece of jewlery for her. I think this will hold some sentimental value to her. Just a thought

I saved mine and gave it to my ds, his choice, when he got married this last summer. Since I have five kids, I have to hide it from the kids when I give one one thing that no one else can have. LOL My kids were 9+ when I separated from their dad. One of my dd's has my veil. The other has my wedding dress. I don't have anything else left to give the other two boys (Well, my kids are all adults, but they are still my kids. LOL). However, my ods would end up giving whatever it was to someone he would not end up staying with anyway. My yds has no emotional attachment to the things like this. So I will keep things from my ods's three kids, skipping him, as harsh as that may sound. My yds will get something from *me* that will have meaning for him when he's a little older.

Were it not illegal, I'd suggest you pound your diamonds in to the ex's forehead with a mallet.

ky

ironically, i just tried my wedding rings on yesterday. first time since november. i felt a little sad looking at them, sad for the end of my marriage. i considered selling them along with some other pieces of jewlery, i just cannot part with them now.

keep your rings until you can make a clear headed decision.

best,

My wedding and engagement rings were my XHs moms... i wouldn't have felt right keeping them so i gave them back to her... as for the 1 ct. diamond anniversary band he gave me for our 10th wedding anniversary... i had the stones removed and reset into a band i picked out...

it's a matter of personal choice... do with them whatever you want... they are yours.

Now you're making me feel bad I didn't get an engagement ring, lol. I'd LOVE to do that.

Ironically, stbx bought me a 1/2 carat journey necklace for Christmas last year. WTF??? He's telling everyone he's leaving me behind my back and buys a piece of jewelry that's supposed to symbolize how love has grown???? Apparently, it was a short journey, lol.

I'm thinking I'm going to put it on ebay once the divorce is final. My wedding band I'm taking a mallet to. It will be a hunk of gold when I'm done, lol. I have two other ring he gave me that I'll give to my girls.
