Well, I've got the refinance process going! I should be able to close by the end of the month and skip the June 1 payment. It will give me a little "catch up" time.

I had to call STBX and get the 2nd mortgage information from him for my refinance. He faxed it to me at work then has the gall to send me a text on the phone asking me how long I was refinancing for? Are you kidding me? I wrote back and told him "it's none of your business anymore"! I mean really! What would he ask me that for?

I am just so angry right now. There is such a heavy load on my back with all this money stuff and him still in the house. I don't know how I'm managing to hang on.

More strong vibes please! This has been a rough stretch!
Hugs,
Jennifer

Hi I am in the same situation. My divorce was final 2 weeks ago. EX refuses to leave the house. I work for a mortgage co and am getting ready to refinance. I have been hesitant because only a few close co workers know i got divorced. He refuses to sign a quit claim deed to me so i have to have the judge do a judicial deed. I need to pay him his 1/2 around $60,000 and then he needs to leave. any ideas on getting him out of the house???? We have a 10 yr old DS who has some idea what is going on but doesnt know his dad has to leave soon. Ex still hasnt found a place to live and refuses to leave...AARRGGHH i hear ya!! Good luck to you!!

Jennifer,

I'm in a similar situation. I'm still in the process of getting a divorce and STBX won't move out. For several months he even refused to contribute financially to the household. I hope your STBX does! Anyway when my lawyer found out, she had a fit and filed a petition for household contribution. Now he has to pay me a set amount of money each week for the household expenses until he moves out. I'm hoping this will be a big incentive to get him out. Hang in there!!!

Can you petition the court for exclusive use of the family home until you refinance and pay him off? That is what my attorney had included when I filed. (I, unfortunately, didn't pursue and ended up being miserable and I moved out to my sister's with my kids)

Just a suggestion.
