New to the board but here goes- My name is Angela. I have been married almost ten years. we have three girls- ages 8, 6, and 10 months. I am a firefighter in Atlanta, and DH owns his own business, doing troubleshooting and testing on cell phone towers. His work requires a lot of travel. For the last year, he has been working in Cincinatti, and we have been making it work. He comes home every two weeks to see the girls. I had two shifts off, and he came home, then said "why don't you come up to cinci with the girls for the week?" (since I had the time off.) We drove all the way up there, he showed me a video on his laptop of him cheating on me, said he wants a divorce, and isn't coming home for Christmas for the kids. THIS IS OUT OF THE BLUE! I am so incredibly hurt- I don't understand. Things were tough, but we did what we had to. If he wanted out, why couldn't he just tell me? And why rob the girls- who adore him- of christmas? I am so heartbroken right now. I know the anger will come, but right now it just hurts. I have lost 12 pounds in 5 days. I am still breastfeeding the baby, but have zero supply as a result. Anyone BTDT with advice?

See a lawyer, pronto!

So sorry he is being such a ****!

I can't imagine your pain or your girls' hurt.

I hope you have family nearby who can surround you and your girls with love.

Wow... now that's pretty brazen!

I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this... I agree with what you're already been told... look for avenues for counseling for you... and talk to an attorney (or two or three) to find out what your rights and responsibilities are... and get the ball rolling to get out of his life for good.

If there is any chance at all that you can work this out... he has a long way to go and a lot to prove to you that he is worthy of your love and trust.

We're here with ya!

I was shocked when I read the part about what he showed you on his laptop.

I am so sorry this has happened to you. I have a hard time understanding how people can be so cruel. I would get an attorney hopefully you may know of one that specializes in divorce/family law. I would certainly seek therapy for your self. Your H probably would not consider any counseling but that would be helpful. I was always going to ask in my separation papers that my H agree to therapy for the sake of his relationship with his children even if he did not want to do it for me or our marriage. I feel badly for you regarding the breast feeding. At least you have done it for 10 months that is great.
