Has anybody out there ever gotten divorced over differences in how many children to have?

Wear,

I strongly urge you to seek marriage counseling as a couple AND solo therapy

Hi - thank you for your response. You're right; I would not divorce strictly for that reason. For us, however,it is just the tip of the iceberg - the fact that I want another child just happens to be what is (always, for a few years now) on my mind. I did not feel this way just after turning 35; I decided a long time ago I wanted a big family. And yes, I am furious not to get what I want and blame him. There are a lot of things I can accept not having my way - I'm not like this about everything - but I cannot seem to get past this issue. Guess I'll have to figure it out whether we stay together or not. But gosh you paint such an ugly picture of step-families =) Surely some must work out!

Wear,

My advice remains the same:

1)See a marriage counselor. Together. Go in the spirit of discovery and be willing to listen to one another and work through your issues. Divorce may sound simple and easy but it's not. It's messy, difficult and expensive. Some people divorce for a specific reason without realizing it changes everything. While divorcing your current husband and seeking another to father achild
