need help for my Mom

Hi all,
I'm actually writing on behalf of my mom today. She is going through a rough divorce with my dad, and I think that today she reached her emotional breaking point. We hope it is her bottom because we know this is the only way she will get help. I, and any professional I have talked to, believe she has a drinking problem, but she is nowhere near ready to admit it.
So my question is, does anybody know of any inpatient programs that deal primarily with...well...emotional issues or traumatic events? I know she is very depressed and also suffers from PTSD and ADD. We would like to see her get help with drinking too but that couldn't be the basis of the program or she wouldn't go.
I know there are programs for dual diagnosis (substance and mental health) but I'm wondering if anybody knows of any good programs for...how do I put it... a middle-age woman going through a really really rough time? Pref. on the east coast?
Hope this all makes sense, thanks for any help.

Hi,
Im so sorry for your moms pain and for yours.
Hi Plum,
Your mom and dad are going through a divorce.
Hi Plum,
Hope all is going well and your getting the help and support you need. Not to cut you off at the knees camult, but i think for than a hug is needed for this girls mom. If shes at the level of depression and mental exhaustion that plum describes i think shes really going to have to turn to professional help. If its a family Dr. or therapist there needs to be help. Alcoholics dont get better by getting hugs. They have to hit rock bottom face first and come up with some scrapes and bruises before they are going to get any sort of help. I lived with an addict and finally left him for that very reason. No matter how much you love someone you can not make them better without them wanting to get better. Mom, dad, brother sister, friend, lover husband wife, child...you can lock them away and throw away the key but they have to "want it" to make it work. So plum i guess what im saying is hang in there no matter how bumpy it gets. Love her and guide her, but dont give up. If its as bad as you say she DOES need help.
Best wishes,
Little star
There is a FANTASTIC dual diagnosis program at the Arbour hospital network in Massachusetts. Here is their main website : http://www.arbourhealth.com/
My bf attended their dual diagnosis program at the Arbour HRI in Brookline and I can't even put into words how fabulous the program and the staff were there. They also have other locations.
They have people of all ages...but I was surprised to see that most were over 35 when he was there. They have a woman's only wing if she would feel more comfortable, as well as mixed programs. They also have a critical unit in case there is a psychotic episode or something. I found it clean, safe, friendly, and above all...helpful to him.
After his stay he was sent to their outpatient program, which is just as successful.
Also, at least in Massachusetts, there is a program call CAB which has inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment. They are also good, but do not have as strong of a dual diagnosis treatment area.
Hope that helped.
