Whippey7,
I wish there was some kind of magic spell or wand I could wave over you but there's not. Only time will heal the wounds. When I was going through what you are I thought it would never end. I have found that the more you beg the stronger they get. When we beg or let them know how much we want them back they know they have you when ever they want or decide to take you back. Its when you pull yourself to gather and make them think your over it and ready to move on they start to be more curious and wanting to know what's going on your life that made you change. Then they have to start thinking about (I may be losing her, is this what I really want?) You see they don't have think about your feelings when they know they have you when they want. I hope this helps. Again, no magic wands here.

I began to peel back the layers of why exactly we do the things we do.

The ex wasn't looking for sexual needs but for someone to put her back on the pedestal and keep telling her how great she was.
