I HAD to pop in after reading your post. I'm sending positive, healing vibes to your pups, you, and Avery. I know my dog is a member of my family and I would be devastated if anything happened to her.

Hang in there and please give us an update as soon as you can.

Aww thats never easy, I had my first cat who was old and we had to put him down because he had eye cancer. But I am praying for God to heal those wonderful pets of yours, because even though I'm a cat person my soon to be Xhusband and I owned 2 dogs (a shi'tzu and a dashund) and I can sympathize with you. So I'm praying for them to be healed and God to put his angels around them and you. Hope things get better dollin.

The vet sent them home for the nite after a huge amount of IV fluids (& meds, & blood tests, & activated charcoal) all day,

Aww...they look so adorable tonight! It looks like they're saying, "Phew, I had a rough day! Time for rest."

Also...I really hope you're not beating yourself up over this. I'm sure you are, but you shouldn't! Accidents happen to the best and most loving pet owners. A few months ago, Maggie (my black lab/basset hound mix) squeezed out of the partially-open screen door. I didn't know she was gone for ten minutes. As soon as I realized it, my blood ran cold and I dashed outside...to see her being walked back by my wonderful neighbor. Anything could have happened to her during that time.

I'm not a very religious person and I only save prayers for rare occasions, but I will say one tonight for your babies. I really hope they'll be alright.

Oh dear Rebecca, how awful. I have two dogs myself (always had dogs in my life)...this must be very hard for you. I totally get how important our dogs are in our life. My first one died of cancer, and my last golden had kidney failure and it was a slow, awful process. Of course, didn't know until it was too late to do anything. My prayers and thoughts are with you for sure. Hang in there, and remember God doesn't give us anything he doesn't think we can't handle. (tough to understand sometimes for sure)

Rebecca,

I'm so sorry to hear of what you're going through... I would be a basketcase in a lot of ways if that was going on with one or both of my dogs, who are also my everything... You've got prayers from me and Joey and my Sadie and Dakota too... and they are so adorable! :)

I just wanted to tell you that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I had two yellow labs, too, at one point. They have both passed away. Now we have a rescue Husky/Wiemeraner mix and a black lab puppy. Our pets are like family to us, too. We've spent a lot of money on vet bills ... surgeries, medicine, etc ... because we love them so much, so I know exactly where you're coming from. I hope your babies are okay.

Hugs
