I don't have any great words of wisdom except to say that I understand what you're going through. It's a very sad time, realizing that this really is the end.

I also want to say that I'm so sorry about the loss of your father. That, on top of everything else you're going through, is so painful.

We are meeting with the mediator on Monday so that we can go ahead and get this over with. I'm moving into my apartment this weekend. I had hoped that the move could be gradual, but he has said that he needs his space and wants me to move out sooner rather than later. It's all starting to sink in - it really is over.

Keep us posted on how you're doing. Keep your chin up, and don't forget that there are people here who will read your words and understand what you're feeling. We're not alone in this, even though it feels like we are sometimes.

So sorry to hear you lost your father to cancer. I lost my dad to cancer more than 4 years ago and I remember how hard it was, especially near the end. He too was too young--he'd just turned 65. Cancer stinks!

As for the child custody/moving issue, I actually had my attorney tell me it might be best to move now (I too do not want to be in the state I'm in forever either) and file for divorce in the new state. Problem is, my job is here and I have enough upheavel with the divorce
