Any advise would be helpful...My ex is dodging child support...he had been unemployed for the past year and living off of savings...I just found out (through his ex gf) that he has been working for the past few months...also found out that he has moved to NC we are in OH (we live about 2 hours apart).

Me,

Hi. If you haven't already, you need to tell your lawyer and give him the name, address, and telephone number of the ex-GF.

A credit report would also show you his employment and living history. You'd need his SSN, address history, and DOB.

Good luck.

You might also have to hire a private investigator to find him if he's working under the table.

My suggestion is two-fold. First, as mentioned above, hire a private investigator to do background checks on him and get his addresses, bank accounts, etc. This would run somewhere around $400-$500. I have done this myself when I discovered my wife was cheating on me and it was extremely effective. A cheaper yet somewhat less reliable route is to use an online private investigation company to look him up. This runs usually under $150. If drug use is a major concern and/or area of interest, you could consider hiring a P.I. to follow him and/or do surveillance to obtain more concrete evidence to provide in court.

The next step I would suggest is to hire a good Family Law Attorney who has a forensic accountant on hand. They can analyze his accounts, spending, etc and look for discrepancies and noticeable red flags. These findings can be very useful in court to show that he is being underhanded in his financial dealings.

Good luck!
