The test says No.

So I'm gonna get in touch with my doctor to get to the bottom of why I'm not getting my period this month. Like I've said before. Nothing out of the ordinary happening here. Nothing to be stressed over. Quite happy, in fact. I've never missed a cycle except when I was carrying Dylan. I'm like a clock. Every 28 days and at the same time of the day each time. So you can imagine how I can be confused. Of course, I can get a blood test to see for sure. My best friend has two kids and never had a positive home test. Even when she had in-vitro done last year and KNEW for a fact she was pregnant already. A home test says a big NO.

So I'm going to make a call today and schedule a time to go in.

I was pregnant with twins and didnt show a positive test until 3 months!!

One factor is you may be stressed because you "want" to be pregnant so much!!

My suggestion is wait a week- then get to Doc and get a blood test. Best of luck to ya Mel!

I called the doctor's office and the front desk wasn't sure what to do so she buzzed me back to the physician's assistant, who, of course, wasn't at her desk. So now I'm waiting to hear a call back to see if I'm gonna go in today or not to do a blood test.

I'll keep ya all posted.

Hey Mel - I had this happen to me once - I really WANTED to be - but I wasn't and the blood test confirmed it - the GOOD news was I got pregnant for real a week later! Even without a normal cycle previously. So whatever happens, it will happen when it is supposed to! I hope you get the results you are looking for today or soon. Just keep at it! ;)

Well, I go to the Dr. in an hour to do a blood test. I'm happy that I will know one way or the other. I talked to my best friend last night and she seemed concerned that I wasn't showing much excitement about the possibility that I am. But I just told her that I'm containing it because I don't want to appear outwardly thrilled if it's for no reason.

I am not giving up. If I'm not pregnant right now, fine. I know it will happen when it's supposed to. And we will have plenty of fun trying. LOL!

Sometimes thinking about it too much seems to make it less likely to happen. I have friends who "tried and tried", and then got pregnant when they gave up and ignored it altogether. Relax...it'll be ok

Ah, I'm fine. Mostly just anxious to know one way or the other. I tried for a long time to have Dylan and then just gave up. Then there he was. I am not thinking about it too much. Mostly just focusing on what's important....the life I have with Shane. We're happy so I'm sure that when we're suppose to concieve, we will. I went to have the bllod test done and I may not know til in the morning. Hopefully they call before 10 because I have to leave to get Dylan by then. But if they don't, which is likely, oh well, I'll find out in the early afternoon.

Alrighty then...the blood test is negative too. So it's official, I'm not expecting. Yeah, I bit disappointed, but I'm alright. I know that it will happen when it's supposed to. So until then, I'm just hanging out and letting nature take its course.

hey mel,

did the doc mention why you're period is running late? If you’re cycle is off by a week, it could have an effect on your peak ovulation time. You think it’s a certain week but it’s actually the following week, kwim? Maybe you’ll just have to try every day! ;)

No, he's not an OB. He knows nothing about a period. He seemed a bit embarassed to ask me questions, so I just volunteered info. LOL

I couldn't see an OB yet. Had to be referred by a GP. I have no idea why I'm 10 days late. But (and it's kinda gross to talk about) but you know by the discharge (I hate that term) when it's peak time. So I'll just keep tabs on things by that. And hopefully (Never thought I'd say this) I'll get my period soon.

But until then, I;m game for trying all the time. Hey, it's fun!
