Yesterday, we closed on our new house, got the keys, and took the kids and laid on the carpet in the living room. So nice. :) TT went and grabbed fast food for dinner (I HATE moving - it means not being able to cook because everything is packed and being too busy to cook even if it WASN'T packed!) and we ate dinner in the back yard (which Jojo says "it looks like a park!!!!) Went to Home Depot and picked out paint for every room in the house (the guest/computer room is RED! WHOO HOO!!!!) - and my dad and BIL are painting the entire house in the next few days. TT and I will be cleaning the bathrooms and setting up the closets and cabinets at night, and/or painting. The carpets are being cleaned Friday morning, and we move in Saturday morning. I'm thrilled.
It's been almost 4 years since I moved out of "my" home, got a divorce, and started completely over with nothing but my clothing and "half a kid" (50/50 split custody). I remember crying for months and months over losing my house, over losing my definition of "family", over losing countless friends, over debt that I got stuck with, over feeling like I was competely starting over. It was not a very happy time. I never imagined that barely 4 years later I would be VERY happily remarried to a loving, supportive, man - who adores me and cherishes my son as his own, with ANOTHER beautiful son, two amazing "bonus" kids, with a beautiful new home that is 10x nicer than the home I lost, with more family and friends that I can keep up with. Life is good.

May your new journey take you great places and find you endless happiness and strength and courage. The sun is shining and giving us all hope now!!!!!
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your new home and man.
Mindy,
Thank you for sharing with us! There are SO MANY of us who need to see these stories and know that happiness really can be just around the corner.
WHOO HOO on spending time at the new house already (only, I hope no one had to use the bathrooms! LOL). You must be thrilled that JoJo is already happy with it!
I'll enjoy it all even more when I'm able to cook dinner in my kitchen with my family! :)

TT is such a doll. Yesterday, he left work a little early, picked up the keys, and went to the new house and SCRUBBED the master bathroom from top to bottom - - - it's the ONLY one that's clean right now, but it's SUPER clean and shiny . . . then he went and picked up food, and called me and said "as soon as you get the kids - go to our new home!" and had it all waiting for us . . . it was REALLY nice.
I'll do the other one and a half bathrooms tonight while he paints . . . and hopefully I'll have time to clean the kitchen and start moving that in . . . as the kitchen isn't being painted and it's tile . . . .
It's a very exciting time. Last night as we were laying in bed, exhausted, TT wrapped his arms around me and told me with a good marriage to a good woman, four healthy, wonderful, loving children, a beautiful home we can fill with love, and his happiness with his career, that life can't possibly get ANY better. I have to say that I agree.
There IS hope. Happiness IS just around the corner.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine just sold her house in Las Vegas. She bought it in February, that's SIX MONTHS AGO, for $213K, moved from Seattle to Las Vegas, decided she wanted to come back home, and sold her house just a few days ago for $322K! That's incredible! You can't go wrong with the housing market in Vegas right now!
That's just great news Mindy!
That is so wonderful! Congrads on the new house, you deserve the very best.

Wow, how wonderful for all of you...and how very exciting! A new house...you must be glowing all over!
I think that I wll make this my new mantra.....on the days when I am feeling a bit blue.
