I am still feeling quite a bit of pain...and hadn't been out of my house since i came home form the hospital. ( The dealership that was fixing my car wouldn't give me another loaner, since I had smashed up theirs)
However, I had been feeling quite rotten today, and began to call my ex to see if he would take the kids tonight...he never answered/returned my calls. The dealership was supposed to give me back my van...and then called at 4:00! to say that when they tested it...it failed! They could give me a rental either tonight, or tomorrow mornng!!
Now, my kids need to be picked up by 4:30! from camp. The dealership did not pick me up until 5:15, which meant that I picked up my kids at 6:20! They had been there since 6:30 this morning.
My ex called me at 6:15 and wanted to know what I wanted,,,as he saw my number, but hadn't listened to his vm. I explained what had happened...and he turned it around and said to me...but I have had themn since Friday!!!!! Hello...I have just been in a bad car accident!!!
Mind you...he ususally gets them on Sat., and is supposed to have them until Wed.; however, he has Yoga, and so I have been taking them on Tues!!! His night!!!! SCREAM!!
My insurance co. calls to inform me that the JERK who hit me has the same insurance...and that the only people who could be a witness are people that neither the driver or I know.
I am so frightened that this is going to be blamed on me.
I have a $500.00 deductible, which I have to pay...and then possibly get reimbursed when they make the determination of fault.... My van was suppsoesed to cost $ 300. to be fixed, but of course they found other things wrong with it, and so it's costing me over
$ 1000.00.
So, I have to come up with $1500.00.! I have $1800.00 in the bank, as I was supposed to finally be returning to work in 3 weeks...that doesn't look likely at this time.
Oh yeah, my doc called to tell me that my bad cholest. level is twice the normal limit...I should exercise more!!! Ok....when I stop being in car accidents that are not my fault...I'll be more than happy to oblige!
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME????
I had finally started to feel good about myself, about returning to work...working on me...taking better care of myself...
I am so afraid....I haven't been to see a doctor becuase I don't want to hear what he is going to say...no work. I have no money.

Now, because you have the unique situation that both you and the other party are covered by the same company, you can expect that the company will not be looking out for anyone's best interest but their own.
Is this a reputable company? Have they treated you well or do you feel dismissed? If so, my advice to you would be to consult a lawyer. The consultation is free, and yes you will end up paying in the end if you win a settlement, but in this type of situation it might be in your best interest. Although you will end up paying a hefty portion of your settlement to your lawyer, a good lawyer will give you the confidence that someone is looking out for you, make sure you get proper medical treatment, get any repair bills and/or deductibles reimbursed and help you settle your case.
Good luck! and I hope you can get your car back soon.
Try to relax as best you can and rest and get your strength back up. One thing is for sure. If your ex cannot be a little more flexible with his schedule then his yoga night is going to have to go. I would put my foot down on that one.
Hugs to the kids for staying at camp so long but they will survive. Kids have to realize that life is not perfect and these things happen. The way you react to that teaches them an important life lesson so you have to be strong for them now.
At any rate, I have had the experience in the past that when both parties have the same insurance company you do not have to pay the deductible since they don't want either one to sue the other one. Hopefully this could happen to you!! At any rate, I would get a lawyer and try to get some witnesses. Right now it is your word against his.
With regards to your "bad cholesterol" level - the doctor is talking about your LDL. That will go down when you elimate the saturated fat from your diet and you eat more fiber and if you lose weight. This is a lifestyle change that you can adapt when you get over this. You are not going to die tomorrow from that. But you do have to pay attention to it soon.
I think you should talk to the dealership about the van and your hardship case. Maybe the service manager can cut you a break? It is worth a try. Or maybe they can only fix what is necessary now and something later? I would also talk to him about the repairs for the loaner - they might be able to fix that in house and not charge you the deductible or let you wait to pay it. Negotiate. Negotiate.
Hugs to you for today - I think it will be a little better when you wake up. Take each thing one at a time so you don't go crazy. You have to be in one piece for your kids. Isn't that always the way for all of us.
Keep us posted!!
Sometimes it stinks to be a grown up huh?
Sending you hugs and sympathy from a Mom who has been there.

Please go to see a doctor....it's crucial, and it's #1 right at the moment.
