Big Congrats!! The GRE is a bear! I hated it and worse yet, it's been long enough since I took it the last time and got my MA that I'll have to retake it if I want to go for the Ph.D. The verbal was never a worry for me (I was an English major and if I remember right, you've done a lot with ESL students right?). But the math! Eeks. So, where are you going with that fancy GRE score?

Hey fellow eng major! Me too.

I hadn't tested like that since SAT's for college, it WAS a bear.

I'm going to apply for an MA in Anthropological linguistics. That will look good for ESL and some other things I'm interested in. What's your MA in?

English literature, though I taught freshman composition and basic writing while getting my MA (I was lucky because at SCSU, even instructors teaching as part of their assistantship were given the freedom to choose their own texts, design their own curriculum for the class and were listed as the instructor of record so it was much more real world non sheltered experience.) And I've taught composition and research writing part time at a local community college. My thesis was on Arthurian literature in the Victorian Age. Good luck with your graduate work. For me, so far I don't know that it's really advanced my career as there are a lot of PhD's willing to work for the same money as me at community colleges so I've not been able to get a full time academic position. But I value the knowledge and experience anyway. And one day dd will be grown and I've already warned dh that I'll be wanting to go for a doctorate even though I probably still won't make any more money ;).
