Am I happy or sad? I am happy because he's a big boy and will learn so many cool things and make little friends. I'm sad because he's a big boy now and going to REAL school and not daycare. And I guess also because I'm gonna be getting up EARLY each day. UGH! But he will look so cute and I will take lots of pics so I can post them here and share them!

Hugs!

Mel (the big boy's mommy)

Congratulations! You've made it to a new and VERY big milestone.

I sobbed my eyes out the day Ty went to KGarten. He was so proud...and I was too, but sooooo bittersweet.

Now I STILL tear up sometimes when I drop him off and walk away with his backback to school. I am so amazed at how quickly he is turning into a man.

Looking forward to pictures and hearing how his day went!

We met his teacher on Sunday and she seems very nice. She has a 2nd grader and a new kindergartener herself. But her youngest is in another class so there will be no favoritism. This school is very careful to place children in other classes if they know the teacher personally. I like the school. I got him a new lunch box. He wanted to take his lunch. And the cool part is no matter what income level they are at, they get free breakfast in the classroom. So I'm sending him earlier so he can get that. They can have sausage biscuits and juice or pop tarts and milk and stuff like that. Stuff he'd eat here anyway, but free. This is the first year it's available to everyone.

Anyway, I am highly emotional. Not sure if it's the hormones or just him starting school....or both. All I know is at the grocery store yesterday, I almost broke down by the grated cheese!! LOL! Silly me.

Hugs!

Mel

Enjoy kindergarten - they are learning a lot and are still having fun, too. It is the last hurrah before grade school.

My DS just started 3rd grade. The first day he wanted me to drop him off in carline - no more getting out to walk him in - that is not cool.

He also spent 5 minutes on his hair in the morning. I was ready to scream because we were running a few minutes later than I wanted - but it was so funny to see it wet and combed down (his best attempt). He is turning into a guy already.

I am sad that the carefree days of summer are over - late to bed, late to rise, summer camp - no homework. But the house is going to be cleaner and quieter for my home office.
