Shane and I have a Christmas party to go to next Sunday night for his work and I had NOTHING to wear. I had tops, but no slacks to match or to fit. I had jeans only or sweats. Not exactly the attire expected.
I went today to the nice baby shop where I had bought a few things before and had a dress on layaway. I planned to take that dress to New Orleans, but when we didn't go, it just stayed at the store. I went to the sale rack and found a pair of black slacks originally $42.00 and a beautilful deep purple shirt that wraps around with a collar and french cuffs and it was originally $54.00. I got a refund on the layaway money I put down and got the outfit at 75% off so I paid only $5.99 total for an outfit priced at almost $100.00.
I'm still in shock! But for $5.99, I'm gonna look great. The best part is that nothing was wrong with a single article of those clothes. Just were on the rack too long and needed room to place other items so they marked it down. Talk about luck. And they have the cutest baby stuff and a t-shirt that says, "I'm the big brother". Can't wait to go get that.
Any other good bargain shoppers out there?
Mel

Well, I have weak moments too. I just happened upon this. I knew I needed to get the refund done on the layaway and I knew what I was looking for. A simple pair of black pants. I planned to only buy those IF they had some for less than $30.00 or else I'd go elsewhere to buy. I didn't have to buy the top, so even though it was a sale item, it was a weak moment because it was too cute to pass up. But hey, I also go to Target and other stores and spend way too much. Beyond my intended limit. But like I said, the stuff it way too cute and I just had to have it.

Hi Mel!
You're my kinda shopper!!!! Where do you live, lol...
What a fabulous find!!! Good for you!!! My weak moments were when I found out that Old Navy was having a 50% off CLearance Sale!!! I spent about $100.00 ...but walked away with at least $500.00 worth of clothing...and NONE of it was for me...sigh (I need a personal shopper...I never find anything I like unless I'm with someone)
I actually wound up buying my ex several things for Christmas from the kids...if you read my other post...youo'll know why now I'm wondering if I should take them back!!! LOL
Jsut kidding...I like him to look good when he's with our kids...I still feel like it's a reflection on me somehow...and hey...I only paid a total of $10.00 for a long sleeve heavy shirt, and a gorgoous half zip fleece!!!! He doens't need to know that is all I spent! ~grin~ Besides...since he and his famly don't talk...they also don't exchange gifts...so mine are the only ones he gets! The rest of his stocking stuffers I got for free with coupons and sales!!! Yipee for me...I love FREE!!!!
Happy bargain hunting,
Jennifer
