Alright...
I'm packing the house ALONE. No help, nada. Shane calls a few times a day to check to see what I've accomplished. When he comes home, he seems disappointed that I didn't fold clothes, but how can I do that if I'm packing and cleaning as I go?
Then, today Dylan gets in trouble for hitting TWO girls. Like I needed that phone call.
And to top it off, we still can't recruit any help to move because the squatters in our house have still not left. I've tried to contact their agent about it and she refuses to return my calls. I also tried to call her JUST TO ASK ABOUT WHERE CABLE OUTLETS ARE so I can figure out where to place my computer. No return calls. Just plain rude. I understand being busy and if I had left a message at her office onher VM, I'd get why she hadn't returned my call. Realtors rarely are in the office. But I left it on her cell, which I KNOW they check constantly. I'm PO'ed at this situation. We have no word on when they will be out. No matter what, you CAN estimate a date to be out or have that as a goal and make it happen. Our goal is to be out of here on Saturday and believe me, our stuff will be packed and ready to move. And it can be out that day if we can just nail down a date with the squatters.
I hate feeling like I have no control. And I have none whatsoever.
It's not fair!!!!

Oh yes, I'm aware of all of that. As a homebuying non virgin, I'm aware they SHOULD pay rent, but our realtor didn't want to rock the boat because the sellers got a better offer an hour after our's came in and with all the problems the mortgage broker caused (closing 6 days late among other things...) our agent thought it was best to let them have as much time as they wanted after closing for free. I didn't want to go along with it. I told him it was ridiculous and unreasonable and he refused to budge on it. Plus, he won't push them to get out now and their agent doesn't return calls from us so we're at their mercy now because we have to be out of our house Saturday and they actually have til Monday to get out per their request. All I've been told is they are aware of our need to be out of our place and will TRY to get out quickly. But that's not good enough. I want a date!
I deserve that.

Mel,
Have you tried contacting the other agent's office and speaking with someone higher up? Sometimes if the pressure comes from above people are more apt to move on something. A quick call to the office to say that you've left 18 messages for the agent with no return call and ....
Here's hoping to a stress free weekend...

What I'm feeling is that she's one of the higher up agents. I know the broker there. I might have to call Hunter personally, but I doubt it would do any good. We signed an addendum stating they could have the time so there is really nothing we can do. We were pretty uch told this was the only way they'd keep our offer after all we'd done extra to please them. It was a do or die situation. I was unser the impression that once the offer was accepted, they could not back out unless they could no longer move out of the house. They signed a contract stating we were the official buyers and they accepted our offer. Once that's signed, extenuating circumstances are the only way they could back out...not us saying we really prefer they move sooner OR that they pay rent.
The most frustrating part is that originally, they were planning on giving us possession at closing. We signed that addendum. Then they asked for a change on it for 1-2 days after closing. We agreed it was fine. We signed it. Then we're approached once again with 7 days. I told our agent that was ridiculous. He also agreed, but said that they would still consider the other offer if we didn't take this so their agent has apparently filled their heads with, "Let's manipulate them all we can" so we'd be foreced to do things against our will. If there were no other homes we liked really well, I'd have said to forget it. And almost did. They would have hated that. But then again, they'd still be selling it because of the other offer. Unless those people found another property. Hopefully, they weren't some desperate couple just hanging out like vultures to see if we failed.
We drove by last night and it seems like they MIGHT have done something, but not much. The garage is still full and there are things still hung up on those walls. They've taken all week to do nothing. They absolutely HAVE to get this crap out by tomorrow. It can't wait. I can't stress that enough.
