Well the big move is tomorrow. The closing went well last Friday. Except there is still the issue of $$ with my dad because his name was on the house with mine and there is the big fight over what I owe him and my dispute is that my EX husband owes 1/2 of that money as well. I shouldnt have to pay ALL of that....
Anyway -- the boys and I are having a slumber party in the new townhouse tonight because they will be with thier dad for a week starting tomorrow. They have been anticipating this move for a long time and asked if they could just stay one night in the new place before they have to go...so we are bringing bedding, a tv, dvd, and essentials- oredering pizza and just having a old fashioned slumber party tonight - the 3 of us :)
I am looking forward to settling in and the boys are getting new bunkbeds and have a tv in their room with xbox (which they never had) so they will have their own space. I am excited to give that to them. For me I bought a canopy bed and excited to decorate my new bedroom.
Its the first time I will have a place all my own without a partner that "I" get to decide on how it looks-- everything. I finally get MY fresh start after my divorce...I have waited so long for this. It feels really good.
So wish me a quick speedy move :)

I am sure the move will go smoothly. I haven't purchased another place, but I have been in 'my own' place since I separated in September 03 because neither of us could afford to keep the house. I don't have a lot of furniture, but what I have is exactly the way I want it. When I moved I splurged and bought new bedding for dd and I, all new towels, a rattan chair from Pier One, and a white wool rug for the living room. I also bought a new couch, but that was more of a need than a splurge. I love 'my' bedroom and 'my' living room, both are simple and very cozy. My dd has her room and the dining room, since I couldn't afford a dining room table I made it her play room (it's fairly open to the living room), and I like those spaces too. Everything is mine and that feels so good.
Congratulations!
