Spanglish - MUST see

I think that Spanglish is a must see movie - what a great story. It even has a single mom!!
Téa Leoni, the chef's wife, shows what it looks like when you have a negative mind with little self esteem. She does not allow her mind to be empty and to be receptive to the beautiful moments of life. Instead, she has a pre-written script of how she thinks things should be and proceeds to wreak havoc on the lives of everyone around her.
At any rate, it is a good movie. (Although I cannot say the same for Ocean Twelve - the actors were GORGEOUS but the story was weak, complicated and hard to follow, especially if you did not see Ocean Eleven.)

Thanks for the review! This is one I'd like to see, so now that I've heard a good review that is even further proof it's a movie for Becky!
Oh, and I HATED Oceans 11 myself, so I'd never bother with "12" I felt that the FIRST one was weak and difficult to follow and pretty much just a bunch of eye candy.
I want to see Spanglish, just the bilingual theme would make it interesting to me, but now I'm more interested.
I'll probably see O12, because I get into movies free, my son works at the theatre. :)
Ooooh, my little sister used to work at a really CRAPPY second run theatre in Toledo years ago, but we got freebie movies at all of the nicest first fun theatres in the city because they were afilliated. We LOVED it. Yeah, when it's free, you don't mind a bad plot so much. ;)
I do miss that perk. Right now my littlest siter works at Barnes and Noble. I hope she keeps it past the cmas season. THIRTY PERCENT OFF BABY!!!!! (and on special "employee" days, 40 percent. even on sale items. Gotta love "friends and family discounts" ;)
That is cool that you get to watch movies for free!! What a nice perk!! I am curious to hear what you say about O12. I know you will like Spanglish.
I have had a lot of Latin friends - many of them immigrants - so I can really appreciate the story and the culture.
