Justin is almost completely moved in and looking around the tiny place, it was evident that we were going to need more room.
I've been in this place for over 2 yrs, it's a basement suite, but it's not the full basement, so it's small.
Well, my landlord is buying another house, and will be renting out the upstairs to family, but wanted to know if we'd be interested in the WHOLE basement...
So, for a little more rent, he knocked down two walls and we now have a huge living room and an actual dining room. The way it was before, where the dining room table is now, that was our living room and the table was in part of the kitchen.
It feels like we've moved, without moving!!!
It's just sooooo cool!
Now we just have to reorganize and find space for everything.

Well, I guess you're right! It's a great house, with a huge yard, and I just love the location! I have been here over two years, and this apartment just gets better every year! When Nicolas and I first moved in it was only a one bedroom, but after a time he offered me another room (his son moved out and he just had to move one wall).
Now we have the full basement, so we do have some stairs that go up, but the door at the top of the stairs is now locked from our side so we can get out a second way in emergency and they've added soundproofing to the door. Also, the stairs are out of the way, so it's not intrusive to the room layout, thankfully.
With another storage area I was able to use the storage area off the kitchen as a pantry instead of an all for everything! It's like Christmas all over again!

How FUN to move without moving! Must be very nice. I guess that is how people who do a major remodel feel!
Congrats on everything going smoothly and working out for your alison!
(incidentally and WAY off topic, you must have been among the first to sign up for a user name on ivillage. I can't even IMAGINE being able to get my real name as a user name w/out adding a bunch of numbers on the end or something! I just realized how unusual that is! LOL)
Becky,
Yes, it is a fluke that I got to use my name!
Although, if you read my member file, it says that I signed up as a member a year before I did, so maybe I just took over someone's account and cracked their password.... LOL
