If you are angry at your SO, bf or whomever, or you just want to get out some energy and frustrations, kickboxing class is GREAT! All that punching and kicking! Plus it's good exercise and you could do it for that reason too :)

I completely agree!!!

I was into Kickboxing, but not the aerobics kind, the real deal and I loved it.

I've always thought that sounded like fun, but I fear that I'm too out of shape to even begin to do it!

I think it's easier than the regular aerobics class, I can't keep up in aerobics and there is too much jumping around for my arthritic feet. I usually only do the treadmill for 10-15 minutes but I was able to keep up in this class for an hour. And it doesn't require a lot of strength.

It makes me want to take the regular boxing class. I love the punching, even though we are just punching the air. I'm not sure I could handle the physical part of *real* kicking and punching. My rheumatoid arthritis does well with a good amount of exercise, but if I overdo I can end up in a lot of pain and doing permanent damage to my hands/feet. I think I am going to lift weights sometime when they have the regular boxing class (punching bags with gloves) and just see what it's about.

I've hear kickboxing is great against frustration and anger, but I also heard so is Taebo. Anyone try that yet?
I think I would pull every muscle in my body if I had to start kicking up high. I already get leg cramps climbing a flight of stairs. LOL.

Indeed it is a great workout! I used to take kickboxing with my sister but unfortunately, with my asthma, I found it a little too much. I really did love it other than the fact I turned purple at the end. ;)

I love love love Kickboxing, I take it every Tuesday and Thursday and TRY and get there on Saturdays. We all have gloves and a bag and it truly is the biggest and best way to relieve yourself of stresses. When my ex is really getting to me or his wife or my husbands ex, I usually picture their faces on the bag. Even when I am just really stressed at work it feels good to get it out in class and when I get home I feel so much better...

I've always wanted to try this! Maybe it'll be my "get in shape after pregnancy" workout.

How "in shape" to start with do you have to be? I am VERY out of shape. Will this absolutely kill me or can a new exerciser start with this?

Hey Beck...

I started with this when I was very out of shape and I survived! You really have to go at your own pace and take a rest when you need it. This is one of the best stress relievers ever...well for me that is.

How are you feeling? Any doctors visits lately? How is Ty dealing with this now?

I am in okay shape but I also have a chronic illness, and I did it. I work out 3 times a week when I don't have my dd (so every other week I work out). I keep telling myself I will workout at home when she is there but it never seems to happen. When I work out either I lift weights and do a little cardio (treadmill, stairmaster or eliptical machine) for about 12 minutes, or I take a class.

The first time I went to the kickboxing class the instructor was a substitute and I felt a little sore the next day. Yesterday was the regular teacher and my shoulders and butt are killing me today! I think anyone could do it, but maybe the first few times you would take more breaks to drink water or go at a slower pace. There is a strength training class I take sometimes and when we come to something that is hard for me to do, or that I just can't do, I skip it and pick back up with the next exercise. If you went and it was too hard, after a few classes it wouldn't be too hard.
