Are you anywhere near any of these? Candi, I see this probably doesn't bode well for you. ;)

But, I wonder, why is the singles age criteria only between 18 - 24? Does this mean the majority of the dating world is in these age groups? I find that hard to believe.

Funny, I LIVE in Colorado Springs and I was born in and raised near Ann Arbor, and it STILL took me till I was nearly 30 to "hook up with" someone for a long term relationship and then marry him. I guess they are probably not equating dating with marriage in this article though huh?

Coffee shops and lingerie stores affect whether a city is a good place for dating? LOL.

I'm sure if they rated cities for dating single mothers in their 30's (me) they would have much different criteria. Good restaurants would be more important than coffee shops, number of movie rental places would replace flower shops, and stores that sell 100% cotton panties and thongs would be higher on the scale than lingerie stores. Being a college town would put you at the bottom, and having fewer 18-24 year olds would be a plus.

My city is neither the best nor the worst, and I'm going to take that as a good sign :)

Hmm, First makes some good points in her post...I can't find the underwear I like any more...it's all too teeny to bother wearing. ROTFL

SPRINGFIELD, MA? I can't even imagine how this made the list. It's in Western MA so it's not like I spend a lot of time there but maybe the ratio of young people there is that good. It's kind of known as a bad city though in MA.

I will be moving 30 minutes from Austin, but I am 33. Does that mean I am doomed? LOL
Let's hope not! Thank goodness San Antonio is one of the biggest military bases worldwide. LOL

This has got to be the dumbest set of criteria for dating potential that I've ever seen!

I'm with you, Maggie. Houston is #9 on the worst list, and I really can't see why. It has a TON of places to go, and a huge range too - from ridiculously cheap but good to top-notch. Nice theater district. Several large new sports/concert venues. Biggest Med Center - all those doctors! The criteria must be seriously flawed, and the age range is just plain dumb!

I think that author totally missed the mark about the situation with dating. Cities? That has absolutely NOTHING to do with the dating scene at the moment.

There seems to be an epidemic across the whole country right now whereas men who want a relationship are simply rare birds. I think the birth control movement had a LOT to do with this. Dating is so so so different now from when I was in my teens and twenties.

I have so many single friends who are young, gorgeous, have a lot to offer, have never been married or have kids and they cannot find someone who is marriage material or who would even want a relationship. Ditto with older friends. It seems that every guy wants a booty call girl or is just too busy or is not marriage material.

Has anyone on here read the Dating Doyenne Board or the Relationship Saver board? The stories just keep pouring in.

I have given up on searching - I know he will find me. In the mean time I am getting away with murder before he finds me and puts a damper on my racing and training!! I even just signed up for a race in Denmark. I told my mom this morning, I am footloose and free - might as well take advantage of that and have a good attitude!!

LOL!!!!

I posted this just for kicks, as a conversation started. You guys didn't disappoint. NO ONE agreed with the criteria or took it seriously.

I wonder, does anyone take this stuff seriously? And if so, where can I get a job creating such nonsensical articles?

Now THERE'S an idea for making money. :)

Honestly, I think younger women take these things more seriously. Maybe because they don't have as much experience behind them? OR mayber it's only the ones who don't have many ideas of their own.

It is fun to drop things on here though, we have LOTS of opinions. :)
