know we were identical twins! LOL. This reminds me of Mel and I. Except your almost scarier. My husband was leading a total double life during my pregnancy and I only found out after I gave birth to Nina. I then realized why he was so mean and abusive! Not only are we Irish, but both Scorpions, are daughters are the same age and we both named one of them Alex! LOL How scarey is that!
I swear we all have to figure a way to get a long weekend and fly to one state or another to meet. I mean all of us. We are all so close that it's a shame to keep such a friendship only as an internet connection. For awhile (few yrs ago) Tara, Becky and the rest of the board were trying to figure out a time to all meet up, but we just never had the money. LOL. Well, I already invited you, Mel as well, but I hope everyone knows (and I'm very serious!) they are welcome to see me when I settled in, in Texas. I just haven't had time to personally invite everyone yet, so I guess this will have to be taken as my personal invitation now. Flights can be so cheap! The countdown has moved from 18 months up to 12. wooohoooo!

San Antonio isn't far away. I'll have to get there!

Catherine:

We are a lot alike, aren't we. I've met so many great people on this board. I would love to meet everyone in person. A long weekend to anywhere would be fine with me. I have enough sisters who could sit for me, and I'm sure I could get a cheap flight somewhere. I haven't been on a girls weekend since my kids were 3. I think I'm overdue.

I grew up in a family with four sisters. My mom never worked. My dad hated to drive, so if we couldn't afford to fly (which we couldn't) we didn't go. I want to do things differently with my kids. I try to take them on one vacation every year. It doesn't have to be extravagant, it just has to be somewhere. Where I work, you aren't allowed to carry over vacation days, you have to use them or lose them, but they will pay you for sick days. I try not to use my sick days and get paid for them and use that money to go on vacation. So far, I have been able to do it every year that we've been with this company (5 years).

I would love to meet, face to face, with you, and Mel, Becky, West. I'll come to you. Chicago's too cold in the winter and too humid in the summer. I've never been to Texas, so you can bet that I'll come visit you when you are settled in. Isn't there a Six Flags amusement park somewhere in Texas? (My kids love amusement parks). And I already told Becky that when my kids are a little older, I'm going to take them to Colorado to Rocky Mountain National Park, and when I do, I'll pay her a visit too. This country offer so many wonderful places to see, and I'd love for my kids to experience all that I missed out on. Plus it would be great to finally meet the great people on this board in person.

When I first came to parentsplace I was on the 'deciding to try' board. I met a few of the girls there, and all four of us ended up having kids within a year of each other. When we first met, none of us was pregnant, and I think the last time we got together the two oldest (my dd and one other) were about 18 months. It was a lot of fun each time.

If you guys meet in Colorado, maybe I can plan a trip home around the same time :) I usually go once or twice each year.

Ladies! I say we start pinpointing where exactly everyone is located and put it on a map, then we meet in the area. Las Vegas would be great fun as well, but the most important is that we all try to meet somewhere either where most of you are located or smack in the middle. So it's fair. Time frame: Spring 2006, you guys can choose the month. I'll be in the States Feb. 2006, so of course End of March, April or May would be best for me, when I have got myself situated. I am going to post on the board for figuring out our locations.

There is a Six Flags in Dallas, which is 1.5 hours West of me and in San Antonio, there is a Six Flags Fiesta Texas. SO yeah, we have lots of stuff amusement park wise to do!
