As if this could get any crazier...

Ok, to get up to speed, see the Paranoid thread. Mr. It Just Doesn't Add Up called me this evening, from the strange residence number again, and asked if I'd like to have dinner. I told him I was standing in line at KFC, could I call him back. I told him that to get rid of him, but he answered, "well, just get the kids something and I'll call you back in a little while. You can't call me because my cell is dead and I left my charger at work." So I started thinking about it, and decided it might be interesting to see him squirm. When he called back, I agreed to meet him for dinner. My brother was going to watch the kids for me. He (bro) is staying with me until his new apartment is ready the first of the month. Well, right before I was ready to leave, my brother left without saying a word. I thought maybe he had run to the store, so I waited. Joe called back (his cell phone is miraculously working again!) and asked if I was lost. I told him what happened with my brother and I hoped he was coming back soon. He called me sweetie and told me he couldn't wait to see me and hoped my bro got back soon too. Well, an hour went by and my idiot brother hasn't shown back up yet. Joe calls again, apparently drunk, and tells me he is soooo disappointed because my brother didn't come back. He said "I love you darlin', I mean, I would love to take you out again."

Forget making him squirm. Run, Forest, RUN!

PS - Idiot brother showed up just a few minutes later, saying he misunderstood and thought I was going out tomorrow night.

LOL at your wandering brother. Weird guy turns weirder... it always happens that way, doesn't it?

What did you end up having for dinner?

Isn't it funny how everything always falls into place. Your brother's goof was actually a blessing in disguise.

Throw this bad boy back into the pond - no more contact.

LMAO!! KELLY!! OMG, I don' think I have laughed that much in AGES! Your story is just CRAZY! I could imagine the whole scene by how you described it. Sounds like one of my nutty dates getting nuttier.
So has he called back today?

To add it on even further - this morning I went out to pick up a few things at the drugstore. I heard a noise and felt something weird under my left front wheel. I was only a few blocks from my house, so I limped it home and had my brother look at it. It turns out my brake pad on that wheel had shattered. If I had gone to meet Joe last night, I would have been on the highway at a pretty good speed instead of in the Walgreens parking lot at 5mph when it happened. It probably would have ruined the entire brake system on that wheel, and I probably wouldn't have had brakes on that wheel when I tried to stop. Does God watch after idiots or what?

No, Joe hasn't called me. I'm hoping the embarassment when he sobers up will be enough to make him stay away. LOL

Someone is definately watching out for you, a guardian angel or something. Whoever it is probably took over your brother's brain last night and made him walk out the door without saying anything.
