Crazy Joe, he of the no phone calls evenings or weekends, only make plans at the last minute, call from strange phone numbers, way too many cars at the house he says he lives in, drunken "I love you" after I had to cancel our second date. He called twice Tuesday last week, twice on Thursday, once today. Has not left a message yet. Part of me is dying to see what he has to say. It's going to be hilarious. I know it. I had a dream that he morphed into a distant relative who is known to be a scam artist and liar. Tell me that it is not a good idea to answer the next time he calls or to call him back.

And I thought you couldn't really know what I was going thru.... Boy was I wrong... Sounds just like my situation, except he only calls late at night and on weekends. Sometimes leaving as many as 10 hang ups on my answering machine only to call two days later to tell me he called. If he had something new to say he would have left a message right?? So there really is no reason to call him back, he didn't even ask you to. I like your name "Crazy Joe", I like to refer to them as "Jack Hole"!!
Good Luck.
You know that he's not going to have anything to say, he's going to keep trying to feed you lines and see what you bite on. Since you haven't come straight out and told him yet to take a hike, he's going to keep persisting because he thinks you might be "sucker material" and fall for BULL!
If you're subconcious mind is dreaming that he's a con artist and liar- pay attention! Your subconcious picks up THOUSANDS more things that we just don't clue into, but should listen to. If you're getting a vibe, trust it. Don't answer the phone "just for a laugh"- not worth it.
Be strong and get out there looking for someone else.

I can see where you are amused and would want to hear what he has to say - but you will only fuel the fire. Best to let him figure out he is not getting the attention he wants and to stop calling.
I agree with Alison that our subconscious sees a lot more than we do.
