Hey everyone... Halloween is around the corner! Have you decided what your kids are going to be for Halloween?

Whether you have the best idea, something cheap and easy, something recycled from last year or don't know and are going to wing it at the last minute - tell us!! Anything planned that is fun for you?

I think my son is going to wear what he was for last year - this scary mask and cape of the grim wreaper. Recycled works for us!! I plan to take him and the puppies, now almost full grown, around the neighborhood with his friends. No fun adult plans here.... (yet)!

Hunter is going to be cookie monster and his friend (who is a month older than him) is gonna be elmo. we are gonna go trick-or-treating together.....it's gonna be adorable!

My sister is having a halloween party on the 28th, and Mike and I are still trying to decide what to be....we may end up going as Dog and Beth (Dog the bounty hunter) just not sure yet!

The Social Butterfly wants to be Ariel, from the Little Mermaid. I'm going to buy what I can, then improvise, since she'll obviously have to be able to walk with her "fin", and it has to be big enough to wear her coat under, and also fit her properly on its own, as this is upstate NY and you never know if it'll be snowing or 70 on Halloween.
Droid hasn't decided yet what he wants to be, so I'm guessing it'll be an elaborate costume that I'll have to whip up in about T-minus 40 minutes. Last year he was Spiderman, but he won't fit in that costume anymore, anyhow. He was thinking a box of M&M's, which would actually be simple to make, but difficult for him to get in and out of the car wearing. We'd make do, though, if he'd just settle on something already!
As for the adult in the house (that would be me, I guess), there's a Halloween party/karaoke thing happening the weekend before, and this will be the first time in my adult life I've worn a costume to a Halloween party, so I'm thinking of going as a witch. Not because I particularly want to, really, but because it's simple, and not too elaborate. I haven't got the costume yet, though, so I'm open to ideas.

Moody- who loves the idea of dressing up in a costume but is out of actual ideas.

Not a freakin' clue.

MonkeyButt was Shrek for the last 2 years, but this year, the costume is too small to fit him. He asked to be a Doodle Bop but any costume I've seen for them are for little kids. I'm not sure if I even WANT to go hunt down all the pieces to try to make a costume for him (wig and all)- because I have no idea where to even LOOK.

MonkeyBunny hasn't really said much about what he wants to be... so I have no clue.

I'm just all about the candy- so bring on the chocolate and chuck the costumes, IMO!!!! Bah BooBug! lol

My son is going to have two costumes... I'm homemaking a Kikaida costume. He's a japanese superhero. And I also bought him a Blue SPD Ranger costume (it was on sale at Walmart). Both costumes I'm sure he'll be wearing all year long.

My two girls are going to be bunnies. That's cheap and easy.

As for myself, I couldn't resist. I bought myself a SUPERGIRL outfit. Don't quite know if I'm just wearing it to work or going out afterwards.

My oldest has declared she wants to be Dolly Parton. I didn't even know she knew who Dolly Parton is. I feel obligated to steer her away from that. She says she wants to wear a blonde wig...who knows. My youngest wants to be Hannah Montana, from the Disney TV show. That sounds simple enough, but I think she is just wanting a new outfit to use as her costume. That's not going to work out for me. We're still debating about it.

I'm sorry I don't remember how old your oldest is, but if wearing a blonde wig is what she really wants, maybe she could be Cinderella. If that's too babyish, I always liked Glinda the good witch from the Wizard of Oz, who was also blonde. That movie is a classic and not babyish.
Or there are a million famous blondes, I'm just not sure how many of them I'd want my child pretending to be!

Moody- who still doesn't have any costumes for anyone here, either

My dd is going to be a vampiress! We actually bought her costume early this year instead of scrambling at the last minute. We are dressing our pug as a witch! I got a cute costume from Ebay for $10. No adult plans other than eating as much chocolate as we can collect!
