Hi All,
Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving... I am working from 2 - 6 pm. Cooked the Turkey last night from 9:30 PM to 4:30 AM. Yes, I was up late... But I knew that was the only chance I had to make the Turkey. I had a bite last night... Another winner (for a novice). But I don't know how to make gravy with the juice. *sigh* I just add corn starch and it doens't look quite right... but I'm thankful that I'm only cooking for my children and they are not picky and maybe don't know better.
So, here's the little things that make me smile... 1) Ben called me today. Yeah, Ben from a couple weeks ago (38 yrs). I didn't recognize the number and he says "Happpy Thanksgiving". And I say... "And who is this?" LOL. He says "Ben". He didn't want me to think that he forgot about me... Funny. But it was nice to get a phone call. Nice to know someone is thinking of me or that he didn't forget about me... But then he tells me how he was kicked out of a bar and I'm thinking "thanks for the warning." LOL. He's cute. Even a little sexy, BUT his story had quite a few red flags. Know what I mean. Now, that's an example of someone I might not want to go out with even once. ;-)
2) I got a cute email on myspace from a college kid who said.. "nice page and photo. hope you don't mind a college guy admiring you. You look 22 in your picture" I'm thinking... of course I don't mind the admiration. I emailed him back and we chatted for a very brief period about what makes a good date... That was fun even if he was a couple years out of my age range (and I have a generous age range...lol)
So, even though I don't have a date to speak of... these little things encourage me that I do have a social life.
Take care and God Bless All,
Loonybunny

A quick question regarding the cornstarch - did you add water to it first before adding to the pan juices?
Anyway, I agree with your assessment about dating Ben - but yes it was nice to get a call at any rate. And yeah to the fact that you are getting attention from the younger guy!!
How was your dinner? I bet the kids loved it!! Hope you didn't have to work too hard.
I should have been working hard, but I didn't. And I'm working today from 10 - 3. The three older children decided to hang out with me at work. I guess it's okay since more than half the building has the day off.
I enjoyed dinner with the children last night. Another funny but memorable holiday. My daughter made the corn bread and green bean casserole with me... They gave me the thumbs up!!
Hey, what do you think of this line...
"Are those space pants? Because your butt looks out of this world." :-D I'm thinking of using it ...yah, I like cheesy/goofy lines like that....
