Women’s History Month – Women who inspire you
Which female historical figures have inspired you the most and why? Did Rosa Parks’ courage inspire you to fight adversity in your own life? Did Eleanor Roosevelt’s wisdom encourage you to become your own woman? Who do you look up to and why?

I have enjoyed reading many biographies of famous women - including Madonna, Jackie Onassis, Princess Di and Queen Noor - learned something from every one of them.
Madonna - because she was so driven with her career goals and worked very hard but very smart.
Jackie Onassis - because she was so dedicated to her kids and really had 2 very bad marriages even though she was married to 2 very famous men who would appear as good catches.
Princess Di - because you learn that she was really very needy - and her marriage to the Prince was such a disaster for so many reasons. But she was a great mom and had a very kind heart with her charity work.
Queen Noor - who was the queen of Jordan - married to King Hussein - they only dated 3 weeks before they were engaged and she says her acceptance of his proposal was a true leap of faith. She truly loved him and gave a great inside story as to what really goes on in the Middle East with much of their cultures and the intra-country political struggles.
Oh - and I remembered one more - Linda Armstrong - the mother of Lance Armstrong - wrote a book called Raising Lance, Raising Me. She told the story of how she became pregnant as a teenager and ran away from home to keep the baby. And then went through 3 bad marriages while raising Lance - all the while struggling with her career. And finally gets it right on the 4th marriage. She was a great mother and inspiration to him and to us all.
