Just wondered what you guys all thought of this. It could be you have all talked about this before....
http://news.aol.com/newsbloggers/2008/02/29/should-parents-be-naked-around-their-children/
I ran into the article today and it really made me think. My DS just barged into my room the other day when I was getting dressed and saw me naked and I snapped at him and reminded him that I needed him to knock and I wasnt comfortable with him seeing me naked. He responded "Well how come? "XXXXXXXX" (bf) gest to see you naked?" Heck, I am barely comfortable with ME seeing me naked these days. I know that my son has seen me naked but he is 9 now and I just dont feel right about it anymore. I think he sees me differently now if not some of my parts very differently. When he was about two he saw me naked as he always did but really focused and asked "wait a second. You're a girl..." and I said "yes..." and he said " Are all Mommys girls then?" and I said "yes they are!" and then he said "are all girls beautiful?" and I thought BEST COMPLIMENT OF MY LIFE and said " actually, yes they are! We are all beautiful...." But that was when he was two!! His comments are likely to be more awkward now...lol
How do you guys feel about it?
I have to say also that if I had a girl I think I would feel more free about things. Also, click and read the whole article. It explains the woman's position more and makes for a lot more conversation and potential friendly debate over the issues.

Great article. I like her writing AND ideas & I laughed when she talked about googling & thinking about Chris Hanson (to catch a predator!). lol

"Nudity in the family falls under the same guidelines as how long to breastfeed, how much TV gets watched or whether sugar cereal is available for breakfast. It varies by family and..."

In my house it is just me and DS. And we sort of evolved into being modest around here. This has never been an issue for us. As he has gotten bigger he gets dressed in his room or bathroom with the door closed and I oblige - I knock - and he does the same. I think if he saw me I would not freak - would just cover up and keep going. We are always busy and on the go.

Didn't read the article, but the best piece of advice I was was "when the child begins to cover up, you should, too".

Hey! Maybe THATS why Lawn Boy loves to help me out around the house!
