That is a very good article and interesting perspective. I suppose one could have all kinds of thoughts after reading it - that you have to be all you can be and a good catch for the right person. But you have to realize that a commitmentphobe who is really picky might not ever be happy with anyone including you.

That article even fits ME... I guess I might just be a post-divorce bachelorette!

I'm also glad that Hiker isn't in any rush to get remarried either. I like things just the way they are! His ex is getting remarried (again) this summer. It's been on again, off again with

Would he even believe Hiker?

While I don't know any of the details, I would wonder if the future husband would actually "get it" about Hiker's ex. She left Hiker (and 4 kids) after 20 yrs of marriage, claiming to want her independence.

Fast forward to after I started dating Hiker... and his ex was living in Calif, about to get remarried. And then they broke up and she moved back here. And then she left here to live down in South TX with her parents. And then she moved back out to Calif. to get married again. And then she left there and came back here again. And now the BF has moved here and they're getting married again. So... I'm thinking he probably does know what she is like (as far as leaving and moving away on the flip of a dime).

Me? I would've headed for the hills the FIRST time she left.

I think we are all going to throw a virtual party for you when she does get married - because hopefully that means she is out of Hiker's house for good and out of your hair. I remember all the worry when she first came back - that was horrible for you Shrimps!!

Interesting article however, i've heard that men prefer bad marriages to being single... which is why more often than not it is the woman who files for divorce... more often than not the woman has to bring up the conversation with her husband.. "something's missing".. and he is often clueless...

two cents,

Maybe the difference is in perspective... outside looking in versus inside looking out.
