lunch update

I had lunch with the widower today. He looked even better in person and was very nice. I didn't get a feel as far as chemistry one way or another but enjoyed meeting him and talking. I got an email later that he was already seeing someone else and they were moving toward exclusivity. He didn't want to cancel on me and felt awkward mentioning it over lunch. I told him no worries and that I was happy for him and wished him well. He reiterated that he really enjoyed meeting me. So that was it.

I am ok with it and am actually feeling pretty good about the matching process so far. Both men have wonderful qualities and look much better in person; I just haven't found my man yet. Plus, he mentioned that his wife just passed away in February(of this year) so I am not so sure I would want to be that first relationship.

So on to more matches, it is just a matter of time before the right one comes up.

I agree that I wouldn't want to be the first relationship after the passing of his wife.

You are nicer than me - that would have pissed me off. Just freaking cancel then!

I probably would have cancelled if I had already met someone too.

I'm more like Rebecca... that would've pissed me off! He was working towards being exclusive with someone, but yet he was still willing to go out with someone else (you)?!??! What kind of "working towards exclusivity" is that towards that potential GF??? Going out with someone new from OLD isn't it!!!

I think you just dodged a bullet with this one. Just lost his wife in February and he's already working towards exclusivity?? Sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen, IMO. Be glad he is going to crash with someone else and leave YOU out of it!!

Keep looking! And be glad that you are NOT ending up with the ones who have this weird stuff going on!

Yes, when I heard about his wife just passing I knew it was not a good situation.

Well at least you had a nice lunch and it is nice to see what types of people they are matching you with.

You know, I'm glad you got your feet wet with the date, and that you're able to see that the men you're being matched with are actually 'matches', but I would have been a bit put off in regards to the 'working towards exclusivity' with someone else.
