After work yesterday, SEV had to install a water heater at DD25's rental property, so while he was gone, DD12 and I went to see the baby for a bit.

I am glad they won the game and that you survived your xFIL - sounds like you did a good job to be cordial but to focus on the girls.

It seems so unfair that it was xFIL's son who cheated and broke up your house so to speak and then he glares at SEV when he sees you have moved on. Some people.

And yeah that your DD12 is helping her step sister with babysitting and baking cookies. WOW!

I remember the chaos of summer leagues.

I know - that's been my thoughts all along, but I think he's just now, after 3+ years, realizing and accepting that we are NOT going to be together!

What shoulder surgery did your DD have to have?

Yes Moon - that sounds like your poor exh was never right for his dad. Maybe he is so upset that his son left you for that OW and he regrets it when he sees you with SEV because he knows this is now not fixable so to speak. Our next door neighbor's kid is like that - the father is a big wig executive and the kid is the gangly teenager with ADD and while he is a sweet kid that loves music and skateboarding - he is not like his dad and I cringe when I see his dad belittle him sometimes - although the dad is trying to bond with him and do stuff.

I know my exh could never be right for his mom - she was/is a piece of work.

Anyway, I am not packed yet. Am fighting the work pile on my desk - we have been busy and there is stuff I have to do. But it is rolling along - just one more thing to do. DS is going to be home soon and I think we will pack together when he gets here. Yesterday I bought kiddie chairs that fit in the suitcase so we can use those around the fire - I fit in a kiddie chair - how cool is that? LOL!!!

I was happy yesterday - had another date with KarateMan and am really enjoying that we are just going along slow and steady but growing - that he calls every day or every other day or sends a text and that we go out on a date a couple times a week and that my DS doesn't know because we are working around his schedule - KarateMan and I are really getting along well. We went to an early dinner and didn't stay out too late and I like that (especially after hurricane MA!). He makes time for me and respects my schedule.

The surgery was to reattach the labrum(I know I didnt spell that right), a piece of tissue in the shoulder socket that had become partially detached from getting aggressively blocked during basketball in 06.

I'm glad that you finally found the right Dr. who was willing to actually take the time to find out what was WRONG!

Don't sweat the xFIL. I got one just like him, can't cope with the fact HIS son was the one who screwed up. But the fruit don't fall too far from the tree so alot of the disfunction in that family is right in his lap. I imagine your situation isn't much different. It is great that everyone can just behave like adults when in front of the kids.

You know, you're right when you talk about the disfunction.
