I've noticed that all the guys I've dated try to impress me in one way or another.

It depends. A white lie to avoid hurting someone's feelings - maybe. A white lie that says you were the head of a charity event when you only showed up 5 minutes - no. A white lie about age or money - no. I would think that given what you said + time would = too much coming undone or being unraveled for me to feel comfortable enough to keep dating them.

A white lie has to do with sparing another's feelings- like, "no honey, that dress doesn't make you look fat".

I'm the same way- I own a company but it doesn't mean I'm rolling in money (contrary to my ex's thoughts LOL!)

My older cousin and some of her friends are Accountants and somehow slip that fact in within 2 minutes of meeting them, and not in response to "what do you do?".
