update on me and mine

Hi everyone. Just thought I would update. So we are about a week and a half away from prequalification now for our home loan. Thank God. Meanwhile even though it has been making me very ansty to wait on SYB's w2's and be patient, the home prices are going down and more are up on the market. SYB was looking online yesterday and found something and his eyes lit up so he has fallen in love which I think is adorable and I am glad to see. Up until recently, he was letting me do the looking but it seems he is the reasonable one and was waiting until we got closer to the real date we could actually look. I am way too neurotic to have not been searching online blindly for weeks - gotta love me. Anyhow, we are getting excited.
We met with our dog group on Sunday and let the dogs all go swimming together. Monty got attacked by a pitbull and it looked like it was really hurting him but he didnt have a scrape on him after the other owner FINALLY pulled hi pit off my dog. He then asked why my dog didnt fight back and I told him because I was a better owner than he was that was why. HAH. I was so mad. I dont have a problem with pitbulls necessarily but he should have broken up that fight sooner than he did and Monty wasnt doing anything but trying to yank the other dog off of him. It kinda upset me and then afterwards Monty just played by himself all big and huge and droopy with balls and sticks, no more socializing - like he was a kid feeling badly about something:(
I helped SYB's nicer sister J ( terrible that I have to label her but I really do!) move into her new condo the other day after working all weekend straight and it was grueling. She really needed the help though and I am continually taken with how devoted SYB is to family - I really like that about him. DS came with us since school is out and he was an absolute trooper, carrying boxes and using trolleys ( what is it with a boy and a trolley and stacking boxes, real life legos maybe? he was literally whistling happy) and he was so cheerful the whole time. I caught myself watching him and getting pissed about the nasty text message SYB's other sister sent about him - I mean, what a fab kid I have! I am glad J got to get to know him a bit. I think in the beginning she thought I was after SYB to be a father figure but now she knows ( or she should) that DS is great just as he is because I have really done a great job raising him on my own and he is a terrific little boy. I was so proud of him. He was so funny because he had heard SYB and his other sister fighting on the phone a month or so ago while I was out running an errand and he was worried about it and we all talked about it. He was really confused as to how anyone could be so hurtful toward SYB and not like him so much - it just didnt make sense to him since he loves him so dearly. We explained that everyone has their pasts and that adult relationships are very complicated and he didnt need to worry. So when we told him we were all going to move SYB's sister's stuff on Monday, he says with his brow all furrowed "What? The mean one?" and we just laughed and said "NONO the nice one" and he just said " Oh OK then..." and that was that. Funny sweet boy I have.
I put my violin up for sale because I fell in love with another that is equal in price and modern. I never thought that would happen but I have been eyeing this modern maker for a long time and hearing other violins of his. This one is sentimental to him because it has his dog's hair ( he passed a year ago and it was his best friend practically, always hanging around the studio) in the varnish. I tried it a week ago and it gave me the actual shivers it was so beautiful. He got tears in his eyes listening to me play it and offered to try and sell mine for me no commission and said I could borrow the "doggie violin" until after my next big concert at the end of August. YAY! So I have been a bit on my second honeymoon over here playing on it. It is just so lush and clear. It makes me come up with all new ideas and opens up such possibilities for my concert! It made me very teary to put my other violin for sale - but I did it and I am proud of myself because keeping it would have been the wrong decision for the wrong reasons if I can make a clean swap.
SYB wins a prince award over here because he told me yesterday he was taking my son out all day to visit his sister again and go to lunch because he thought I might need some time to just practice. GOD I LOVE HIM. My whole body perked up when he told me that. So they are out today and I, yep you guessed it, am on a practice break writing this.
He has also started this thing where early in the morning he gets very cuddly and whispers things to me about spending our whole lives together and me being his "favorite everything" and mumblings of what sounds like proposal talk to me. Only very very sleepy morning talk but it starts my day off so soft and warm. Loving it over here!!

Wow, City!
WOW!
I remember hearing about her doubts about us long ago and thinking to myself that if it lasted she would learn over time why things were perfect and great between us and where DS fits in but actually seeing it happen now is very very gratifying. The other sister was so hurtful and it kind of set things back a bit because we were all wounded for a while I think!
.
Yay city!!!! Yay violin!!! Yay SYB!!!! Yay Monty!!!!
Sooo happy for you!
M
The new violin is such a blessing over here. I am already feeling romantic because of SYB and everything between us but playing the Tchaikovsky just makes me feel more so and now the new violin - MOON, I am over the moon!!
And I am feeling better about family issues on both of our sides. SYB has still had no contact with the other sister who moved away and I am dealing with my Dad's stuff carefully. Everything does seem to be falling in place finally. And that is a very new feeling over here - I love it!!
Please please post fluffy duck pics. I dont think I could get any smilier ( think I invented a word there) but I am willing to risk it!!
I do think things are getting better all the time over here. He gets me and that isnt easy! I get him too and even the annoyances with both of our families dont phase us long because we truly love being together. He is absolutely my best friend - no doubt - and I am sure I have never had that in a partner. For the longest time I thought I had to accept that nobody would really understand me fully and that this was all part of being an artist - now I know that is just not true. and Thank goodness - this is so much better!
I think also that with our careers and families, there will always be a bit of drama so we are learning to accept that with loving one another fully comes bumps and bruises. As long as we end every day turning to one another we will be golden!
Duck pics tomorrow - as I told Al in another post, we'll have a ducky photo shoot tonight!
City, I am so happy for you that all the pieces in life's puzzle are falling into place.

Awwww, City- what a beautiful thing! I love this update. You sound happy and at peace and how wonderful that is. SYB is a prince for sure, I can hear in your posts how he adores you! I'm so happy for you and your family!
