Eh - no spark. Zilch. Nada. None. Zero.

Did have a good laugh b/c we were meeting at an outside bar/restaraunt. I parked in my usual local sneaky spot behind the warf - yeah, it says parking for a specific rest only, but literally, i have parked there on BUSY Sat nites, all season, & never had an issue. As I walked from the car to meet him across the warf, the host stopped me & yes,

Ugh- I hate that. Especially when everything else seemed to click before you meet, and then BLAH!

At least you have a funny towing story!

But what was missing? Was it the attraction that just wasnt there or the chemistry? I would be bored 5 minutes into someone whining about thier ex. Thats just not what you want to talk about on a first date. I think reasons why relationships dont work out should come up much later into a relationship. But thats just me. Maybe because I was ruined by being in the middle of a horrible divorce during my first relationship out of marriage.

Dont attraction & chemistry go hand-in-hand? For me anyway, they definatly do. I think once I feel chemistry, it automatically = attraction.

I dont know, he just didnt have any "spunk" maybe. Much less so than his sense of humor in email. Sort of drab, maybe. & physically, he just wasnt what I thought. I mean he was ok, tall, etc - but there just wansnt ANYthing that clicked for me.

Im hoping he doesnt contact me. I really dont want to see him again. But if he does, for the 1st time Im going to be honest & instead of making excuses, Im going to say something like "Im really sorry, there just didnt seem to be any chemistry". Or something like that. UGH.

Oh darn, Rebecca! But it is what it is, if you don't feel it. Of course, I'm one to say "allow a second date" if there are no big deal-breakers, just in case a bad first date is a result of nerves or something. But if you don't want to, then you don't have to! Discussing/venting on and one about the ex during a first date... is NOT a way to get a second date, I agree!!!

Interesting about chemistry and attraction though. I see attraction as a one-way street. You can find someone attractive, and it's done all on your own. You have your own tastes or types- and that's attraction. Or someone can find you attractive and it has nothing to do with anything you do. But chemistry... it's a two-way street. It takes TWO to make chemistry, and both people should feel it and contribute to it. It's something you experience only when there is actual INTERACTION between the two. I

Well that will teach ME to post without reading all the replys!

Sorry about no sparks. And all the talk about the exW and legal issues would soooo turn me off. LOL about the "almost" towing. Glad you stopped it! What a jerk for the host to call the tow truck anyway, geez!
