Hello and welcome!

You've jumped into the right place for great advice and sharing your stories. Many of us are doing the same thing...getting back into the dating pool after quite some time. Kuddos to you for raising your kids, making them your first priority. But now it is time to get out and have some fun, some companionship, right?

Well jum right in and you'll get all kinds suggestions here. From on line dating (many here are trying it) to local meet ups, to selling things on craigs list (just kidding!)

Anyway.. nice to have you. What are your interests?

Maybe one place to start is back before you were married and saddled with husband, kids and a household and probably a job. What did you like to do before that?

I got just a taste of painting, drawing in late high school years and I enjoyed it but as life happened totally put it out of my mind. I took a drawing class this past spring and absolutely loved it! Not only did it put me back in touch with something I enjoyed but also got me out of the house one night a week and around different people. I'm looking for another one to take!!

Yes I love to bowl and in the past, I was on a team one night a week. I feel that would be a good start, I am looking into joining a team.. even if it is just filling in when someone can't go. I am also looking to see if there are any groups around here to join also...thanks again... hope you enjoy your weekend.

Well, for a start, you have a lot of interests and that is good for dating or not dating! I bowl too....OK well I throw the ball down the lane and pray it hits pins if you call that bowling. My bf drug me into a league...and you know what...there are a ton of guys who bowl. Some married but may were single ;o) So....maybe you could join a league? In lots of the interests you mentions, I can see the potential for meeting someone.

Happy Weekend to you! We are glad you're here :o)

Yes that is one thing that I am told alot, that when the right one comes along you will know it. I hope I do LOL..I have taken on a second job which gets me out with alot of people... working as a cashier at wal-mart part time. there is a guy there that is interested and has asked me to a family barq. but I had to work that sunday. I am not sure I would have gone though. I feel, I would rather get to know him one on one before jumping into a family thing. but then on the other hand it could have been just a friendly way of hanging out. yeeks, I sure am rusty "laughing". He did ask me to please call him if I would like to have lunch or a drink sometime. that was like a month ago. I wouldn't mind getting to know him but, there is on big issue, he is a smoker, I really don't want to start to care about a guy that smokes. I use to be a smoker and I really enjoyed it. I never want to be tempted to start up again.. so I don't call him. My friends say they understand but, feel I am to picky. Plus i need to learn to go with the flow. I will and am trying.

You sure have had your fill. "good to know" It worked out for you. my insite with your note is......just keep trying and hanging in there... thanks. I hope you and yours have a great weekend. take care.
