Where is Dating on your priority list?

I'm curious. It seems like extra time is vanishing as fast as the daylight hours now that it is fall.

So, putting aside the 8-10 hours of the day that we all have to work/go to school or whatever fill the bulk of the day...how much time is left? And what do you squeeze into that time? When do you date? What would your priority list look like...the top of the list being most important? Mine is something like this:

I get home from work about 5:30pm. So I have approximately 5 hours of evening time.

  • Work on homework or school projects with DD.
  • Disc golf on some days. Sometimes bowling or walking. Occasionally go out with BE or friends on dd free nights.
  • Grocery store or other needed shopping.
  • Make dinner/clean up.
  • Catch up on news or watch a bit of TV to unwind.
  • BED! (oh I love bed!)

I would like to make more exercise a priority but find it hard to work in when DD is with me. How do you all manage to get fitness time in? What else do you work in? An extra job? Night classes? Kids ball games?

I realized also that I don't seem to make my physical appearence a priority anymore. Gone are the days of shopping malls, highlighting hair and working on the make up. I just don't seem to work it in anymore. Poor BE! Maybe I need to work that in a bit ;o)

I will be going to bed around 9 or 10 starting tonight. I must be at my new job before 7am which means I must drop off DD at the Girl's club around 6:30am. I don't even want to THINK about what morning is going to be like.

Still, my evenings have (and will continue to) run something like this.

  • Pick up DD at 5:30-6:00pm

  • Come home and go through her papers and get her started on homework

  • Begin supper

  • Deal with 30 mins of

You busy mama!! But I like how you "sacrifice" your working out by snuggle/fun time with SEV in the morning. hehe...sounds like a good trade off to me! (BTW...you re looking at one year anniversary soon with SEV aren't you!)

I'm a terrible shopper too. I am way to picky and I need to compare and get the best deal on anything. I drive dd nuts. I'll drag her around to eight stores comparing an item just to come home empty handed because I'm not convinced. I'm horrible!

Congratulations on the new job (aye aye aye .....7am start time? My dd drags her feet too much for me to ever be anywhere that early!) And also good job on going for your masters. What do you study? Education is something I NEED to put on MY priority list.

As they say, you'll never do anything of you don't make it a priority right? I should get online and go for mine too. As for the excercise, I could drag dd and or BE with me on walks everynight afterwork maybe. But then the days are getting shorter...see how many excuses I can come up with lol?

And I always make/made BE my priority too..we were on the phone every night consistantly until I started staying over at his place. So I would say I make him a priority also, right after dd and her needs.

I work 3 nites a week, SOMEtimes 2, but usually 3, from 7p-7:30am. So then once dd is at school, Im asleep by 9am.

Whoa.... I really think the night shift would be tough for me. I NEED more sleep than that! And working in Avereys dance and swim...sounds tiring! I grumble at all I try to fit into a day..but I think I prefer it over working nights.

I wish I could

Pac,

How old is DD? I can suggest some fitness strategies based on her age. Fitness is huge for me in priorities. But my kids are teens and grown so its easy. But still I have limitations like getting to their games and things like that. It might be easier for you when you move in with BE so he will be there while you work out.

Oh and for all you gals and guys out there, if youre time limited, then running will give you the best workout for your time spent. A 30 minute run will give you the same workout as an hour bike ride or an hour in the gym.

My work schedule is freaky weird, so I work out on mornings of the

Pac- when are you moving in with BE? I ask because it may make it easier for you to fit in a morning exercise routine when you're living together. When I lived with J, I went to the gym for an hour at 5:30- 6:30. It was tough to get up some days, but it was good overall losing weight and getting healthy!
