Would you sign a Pre-Nup?

If you got married again, would you agree to a pre-nup agreement if it was his idea?

Or would you suggest a pre-nup yourself?

What are your thoughts? Has anyone ever asked you about one, and if so how did that feel to be asked?

I would sign one, it would have to be fair and it would have to give me something if we split and it was his fault but otherwise, why not?

I would sign one.

More imporantly (at least in our case) I intend to have SEV make sure that everything is in financial order for his DD17 should anything EVER happen to him (or me for that matter).

My personal feelings are mixed..

I'm sure the logical adult in me would sign one. It's fair.. and it would eliminate a messy divorce situation and all of that. But the (foolishly) romantic side of me thinks that a pre-nup somehow taints the faith you put into marriage, sort of like "well, we might fail at this so lets be safe". Sure..I know it is logical and makes sense. Afterall, 50 percent of marriages will fail. But does having a pre-nup sort of foreshadow doubt? Or does it strengthen trust...I'm still on the fence.

Well if either of us had anything to protect - I wouldn't object to signing one!

Yes, I would sign one. But like soccermom suggested, I would want any and everything accumulated during hte marriage to be split equally. But for me, I would want to protect my investments which will eventually be the kid's. So if I remarried, and it didn't work out and had to shell out that investment money in a divorce settlement? Well. I would be beyond livid over it. But I feel my next marriage (and I really do hope to remarry some day, I loved it!) is a forever deal.
