Hoping to go this weekend. It is at an independent theater near me. My BF doesn't know that is in the plans. I read about it then went to the website. It appears to touch on something for everyone interested in this board.
Hi - just joined I-Village and it's my first post on the Taboo section!
I went along to see it last Sunday at the Clearview cinema in Chelsea, NYC. It is only on at two movie theaters in the whole of NYC right now and still has an 'unrated' classification. It will almost certainly be an NC-17 if it goes on general release and the sign at the box office was that only those aged 18+ would be admitted and ID may be required.
The camera pans along a model of New York post 9/11, going across the boroughs and zooming in on certain apartments to see what is going on inside them.
The first scene is of a young guy in the bath, videoing himself playing with his penis and doing a wee. In another apartment a young heterosexual couple are having frantic sex in various positions and places in their apartment. The real eye-opener for me was where the young guy from scene 1 is videoing himself moving into various contortions to fellate himself...!!! He eventually cums on his face (and unknown to him he is being watched by another guy in a neighbouring apartment). His boyfriend arrives home but he doesn't inform him what he's just been doing, although nearly got busted as he'd left his camcorder running! (I can't see this movie going on general release in the US, the sex scenes are very explicit indeed and I think it will soon go straight to DVD but you won't be finding it at WalMart ha ha).
They're having relationship problems so go to see a counselor - who turns out to be the woman in the previous scene. She has problems of her own - she can't get an orgasm. She is invited to a private sex club by the young men and is given a tour.....she observes an orgy in progress so you see straight, gay and lesbian couples having sex.
You do see the dominatrix whipping her young client and she takes him to the sex party on a lead with a dog collar around his neck. He irritates her immensely and she has her own relationship problems...she is bi/lesbian but can't seem to hold down a relationship. the weird peeping Tom is also there, observing the gay couple.
The young gay guys end up with another young and gorgeous guy (whom initially is hanging out with a very old guy, apparently a former mayor) and after initial hesitation they all end up having hot sex back at their apartment.....it's very amusing in parts, they at one point 'switch' to change positions to give a 3 way blowjob to the other guys. There was an hysterical scene where one guy is rimming the other and starts singing the Star Spangled Banner into his arsehole!
The whole subtext to the movie is relationships and worries, love, desires. One of the gay guys is severely depressed and suicidal. He is setting his lover up with the third guy so he has a new partner to replace him for when he plans to kill himself and he nearly succeeded. It's also a comedy as well....when the sex counselor inserts a (remote controlled) vibrating egg into her vagina at a party the results are hilarious. (In other scenes she explores her sexual attraction to the dominatrix and to a young woman she observes having sex with her male partner).
I could write a lot more but the movie has an upbeat ending and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. I actually found the gay and the orgy sex scenes to be quite hot - the director is gay, apparently (gay men are always so handsome LOL!) and there were a lot of gay couples in the audience. You really need to be open-minded to watch this movie.
I certainly wouldn't be taking my mother to see it LOL!
I haven't even heard of it but I can pretty much guarantee that it will not be coming to a theater near me.
