Sunday Smiles
17
Sun, 01-31-2010 - 6:07am

It's Sunday, the week is ending and a brand new one is just around the corner. Whatever you are doing today, having a bit of me time, relaxing with the family or working through the weekend, here is a reminder to each and every one of us that life, as bleak as it may look sometimes, is full of joy and reasons for us to smile.

Post something that made you smile this week, or two or more if you are that lucky!

My smiles are:
1-A phone call from my brother whom I love to bits.
2- A painting done by my four year old of a multicolored boy with a yellow mouth, black and red eyes and purple hair!
3- A two pound weight loss in the gym.
4- Almost finishing season 4 of DEXTER.

* A teddy bear in old-style aviation gear including goggles LOL!

* Coming home.

* Being at my mom's (extended) family cemetery. It's small, it's simple, it's where father, my grandmother and other family members are buried. It's a very calm and peaceful place, too.

You know, the last thing you mentioned struck a cord with me. FEELING SAFE. I think a lot of those who have it underestimate it or maybe, take it for granted. I am glad you know how precious feeling safe is and hope that you and your family continue to feel so.

I feel the same way about the cemetery my son is buried in, Poppy.. It lies on the top of a hill, and is the most peaceful place I can think of. Very tranquil and very serene. I don't always get to feel the calmness that you described, my emotions are very much connected to the way I am that day but I totally relate to your experience. Glad you shared :)

To start with I'm moving back in with my parents, because I'm unemployed. I need to find at least one jobs, while going to college full time. I need to save at least $10k this year, so I can move in 2011.

I just have decide to stop having life happen to me. I want to make it happen for me.
