We went to a cookout on Sunday which was lot of fun. Monday, we had a pretty awesome day - even considering I was called into work for an extra shift. (I admit, I took this shift because it was double holiday pay!)
I watched my youngest carry his bass drum for the last time (since he isn't going to do band next year) in our small town parade. Every year I go, and every year I shed tears as the Veterans march or ride by and Taps are played at the different sites Wreaths are laid.
Dh and I took a motorcycle ride after since the youngest went off to a friend's house.
All in all, it was mostly a relaxing day.
It sounds like a very nice week-end even though you were called into work.
Is Memorial Day the day most people in the US dust off the BBQ and have the first cookout of the season?
