You exercise and eat as healthy as possible to keep your body in shape.

What are you doing to keep your brain in shape?

That's already pretty good, Suffy! Working with words, writing, doing creative writing exercises the part of your brain that you probably don't use at work, too.

Teaching is probably good for the brain, too as is learning new things.

I like doing word games and puzzles but I think I should also start doing simple games with numbers because that part of my brain hardly gets used at all.

I read a lot, I use three languages on a daily basis. It would also be nice to do more creative things that don't have to do with words!

My karate helps keep my brain in shape. I really have to work in the class to remember everything (including Korean terminology)and at times it's really difficult. I love it though because it's not only a physical but mental challenge.

Reading, word games, vocabulary, and finding creative ways to
keep the kid entertained and challenged.

I like to learn new things, either by reading or the internet.

At times with dementia it's a lost cause. I basically try to read, as well as read

The numbers are my downside too Poppy. I have reached a point where simple mathematics just leave me speechless and reaching for the nearest calculator. Would you ttu the brain games that come out so feverishly around christmas?

I try to keep learning... I read (not as much as I should), I keep up on current news (until it get so depressing I have to back away for a while), and I attempt new things (although not as many as I probably should)

Did you find it difficult at the beginning? Why did you choose karate over other martial arts?
