This book was absolutely wonderful. I'll admit, I was a little apprehensive, since the book is written by a southern white lady and the story has the perspective of two middle-age African-American maids in 1960s Mississippi. It's so easy for a story like that to fall to stereotypes of everyone, both whites and blacks.

The Help did not do that. It was heartwarming and

Mari,

I'm looking forward to future books as well. I haven't heard of anyone who didn't enjoy The Help, although I'm sure that there are some.

Wow I just finished this book yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful. For me so many parts of it was eye opening and I was engaged right from the very first chapter. I highly recommend everyone read this and since this was the first book by this author I certainly look forward to more from her. Excellent book.
