Are you eating enough fruits and veggies

We all know that vegetables and fruits are good for us, yet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found last year that only a third of adults ate fruits or drank fruit juice at least twice daily, and only 26% of adults ate vegetables three or more times daily.

Go to www.fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov to find out how much fruits and vegetables you need to consume daily ~ it differs according to age, gender and activity level. The site will also help you figure out how much is a cup or half a cup of fruits and vegetables, and how to stretch your fruits and vegetable budget.

Are you eating the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetables?

I definitely exceed the vegetables but probably not the fruit portions.

Those are popular fruits and vegetables in my family, too, except for cabbage.

It's not easy finding vegetable dishes in fast food places. The only place I've found was a restaurant that also does a brisk take out business - they always have a selection of grilled or roasted vegetables. Service was quick - if there weren't any queues I could be in an out in less than 5 minutes, the food was warm and yummy.

Are you close to a supermarket, market or a grocery store that stocks up on a variety of fruits and vegetables, Lorie?

Are you like me - I don't really like fruits that much or do you just forget to eat fruit?

1.5 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of vegetables

Well that surprises me - I thought I was supposed to eat much more than that.

Let's see, I have 1/2 cup of blueberries on my cereal & 5 oz glass of grapefruit juice, strawberries on my cottage cheese for lunch & cucumber, berries for a snack and a cup of vegetables at dinner. Guess I need to eat more vegetables still.

Poppy, I like fruits (some, not all) but they don't stay fresh for very long and with my driving phobia, it just seems that I have to keep going and going and going to the store.

We have an outdoors Farmer's Market and the once place I shop a lot at has both fruits and vegetables really cheap.
I bought tomatoes there, strawberries, raspberries, bananas, salad. oranges apples, corn etc.
At the Lunch I got to they gave out fresh produce to to give out and give away.
We have had apples. corn, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, raspberries etc.
That has helped. We had squash there on Thursday, it was yummy!
