I know the feeling of it not seeming like much, especially when you have so much to lose. My average is about 2 lbs a week when I'm doing my exercise and eating right, and as of my last weigh in I was 317. But a loss is still a loss, no matter how small. All those small losses add up. So pat yourself on the back and keep at it! However slowly, it's already paying off.
Seven pounds is a great start.
