Back in the gym

Well it took the new season of the Biggest Loser to get me back into the gym last night but I did it. I've been out of the gym for about a month now so I started simple, just a straight 45 minutes on the treadmill. I varied the inclines and speed, and even did a couple of 30 second runs at 4.5 in the last 5 minutes. Not bad considering how badly I wanted to go home after about 15 minutes. I'm extremely sore this morning but from the look of the weather, I won't be doing my patrol this evening so I'm very glad I got that workout in. I'll be doing my upper body strength training at work tonight and then hopefully getting back into the gym after work. It's definitely time to kick my metabolism back in gear!

I did that throughout my 20's and I'm just tired of moving now, especially when everything has to be crammed into a 24 hour period that I still have to go to work. It's just overwhelming.

Yes, it will be a long weekend, but hopefully the start of another new adventure in life. As the former spouse of a military man, I always looked at every move as a new adventure and I still do--even if the move is only across town. :-)

We just go the keys this morning and took a load of boxes over. The car is reloaded to be unpacked after work tonight and then tomorrow morning we get the Uhaul and move the furniture. It's going to be a very long weekend.

Hi, Misty,

I am with SJ. Staying on plan is all about packing or even over-packing for the day. Sometimes it is hard to find the time to clean, cut and package snacks for the week, but it is worth it. You can do it. We have faith in you.

How did the move go or is it, this week?

Connie

Misty,

I bring food to work with me every day- I bring a protein bar (20 grams of protein, 200 calories), a salad with either 1/2 chicken breast or 2 hard boiled eggs, or 1/4 pound of cocktail shrimp, and some combnation of peppers, celery, carrots, cherry tomaotes, on a lettuce base.

I haven't been doing too well on the eating side. I keep shorting myself food that I take to work so I feel so hungry and I end up ordering out. I'm trying to figure out some more filling items or healthy snacks to bring with me. The one front I'm doing well on is water intake. I have at least 3 bottles at work and then I have another large glass at night when I get home.

Good for you!! Take in one day at a time and before you know it, you won't be quite as sore, after a workout. How's the eating going?
