DYK Thanks for the info on the home service...that's fantastic that your insurance covers all of it, Cathy!

DYK Bruce is on self-injected humira, every other week...so no remicaide right now?

DYK How come are they just now mentioning the home care service, Cathy?

DYK Seems like they would have mentioned this as an option before now?

DYK so can a kid really pull themselves out of a class that their parent has signed off on?

DYK I'm so far away from high school that I can't begin to even speculate what the best thing would be.

dyk I did not take that the wrong way. I had lots of trouble with Jess and Jill and I understand where you are totally

dyk I feel blessed to finally have a reprieve from high school issues with Lanie. There have been other problems I've had to deal with but at least she's a very diligent student and pushes herself pretty hard

dyk good idea about dropping back down to regular bio if it's too challenging. I hadn't thought of that

dyk Jill has been going to a pediatric infusion center at the hospital where they monitor her more closely for reactions to the remicaide. Since she's been on it for 2 years and hasn't had any incidents as well as having difficulty scheduling because of her school schedule her doctor recommended home care as an option

dyk she's not sure where she wants to go to college. We are going to begin looking after Thanksgiving. She knows she doesn't want to go far. With Jess and Jill we looked in the range between D.C. and Boston but Lanie said she rather have a range closer to home. We're thinking Columbia would be a stretch but Frank is an alum. I think she would do well at NYU, Swathmore. Very different schools than we looked at for the other 2 girls

dyk she has some interest in archetecture but not sure if she's going to go that route. Otherwise, we'll just look for a liberal arts college

DYK Maegan decided for herself that she didn't want any part of honors classes by doing so poorly that her teachers would not recommend those classes for the next year?

DYK We (Bruce & I) really never had any choice in the matter?

DYK I say that, but I guess we probably did...or would have if we could get Maegan to share the paperwork?

DYK In cleaning/looking around her room the other night, we found the paperwork she was supposed to fill out for her classes this year?

DYK Yeah, she filled them out, but never returned them?

DYK Ugh...how do you deal with the 'not knowing' about stuff?

DYK Like not knowing about an end of the nine weeks test in Science, when you find out after the fact that your child didn't study and made a 35/100 on it?

DYK I have tried asking the teachers to let me know what is going on, but they don't cooperate to the point that I need them to?

DYK And what really just fries me is that all of this is just so unnecessary....if Maegan would only do what she was supposed to do in the first place?

DYK I just really don't know how to tackle all this?

DYK Oh, so it's on an as-needed basis?

DYK I think the home care is the perfect option for Jill...I'm so glad the dr recommended it for her?

DYK I know that Bruce has been a lot more happy since he's been able to give himself the humira injections and we aren't dedicating an entire day to sitting at the hospital for infusions?

DYK I don't know how far your infusion center is, but all of our hospitals (the good ones anyway), are about 40 minutes away?

DYK It just made for an exhausting day for both of us?

DYK Such an exciting time, looking for a college?

DYK You have so many options up in your area?

DYK I was hoping that us going to Jacksonville State last weekend for a band competition would make Maegan start thinking about college options?

DYK They have a magnificent band there...and it's only about 2 hours from us?

DYK Bruce just left with Maegan to take her to practice before the band competition today?

DYK And he told her last night that he was going to walk her into the band room and be there when she apologizes to the band director for not telling him that she wouldn't be at the game last night?

DYK Maegan's digging a very big hole for herself...the number of people she has lied to is growing?

DYK I guess it's the Mother in me, but I worry more about her reputation than she does?
