dyk Cathy I had invisaligns. The treatment plan was 14 months. The result was very good. I had a similar problem to yours....teeth looked good but there was movement that was only going to worsen with time

dyk it worked but left some spacing in my back teeth that is very uncomfortable. Now I am having bonding and a crown put it to alleviate the food traps. Though we knew in the beginning it would, I'm now not sure why the 14 months ended with some spacing.

dyk thanks Karen. They estimated that my time would be about 12 months with the invisaligns. If I did traditional braces they said it would be 6 to 9 months.

dyk vanity

dyk I'm sure I'm going to need some cosmetic bonding done at the end. The shape of one of my teeth isn't just right.

dyk I'm looking for some advice on a teacher issue

dyk Amanda's physics teacher is new this year (her 2nd year of teaching) and she doesn't get anything right. For example, the class did a lab. She couldn't explain the assignment clearly to the class and said she would send all of them an email with further instructions. She never sent the email. Amanda and others in the class completed as much of the lab assignment as they could. On the day it was due the teacher never mentioned the missing email or lack of instructions. Amanda's lab partner approached the teacher before class and asked for guidance - which she gave. Then Amanda approached the teacher...same thing. When the lab partners compared their work, the work was different. When they asked the teacher she said she made a mistake on the first girl's. The answer was correct but the formula was not.(?). Plus, last week Amanda did poorly on a quiz where she had the right formula but wrong answer on a problem worth a lot of points. It seems that the teacher is overwhelmed and unsure of herself (her degree is chemistry) and giving the wrong information. I am afraid that Amanda won't learn anything this year and that the teacher's contradictions will cost Amanda the good grade she would normally get in the class.

dyk any suggestions on how to handle?

Megan had a similiar issue last year. So she went to another teacher, who happened to be her study teacher/proctor, who was also a science teacher and more expeirenced. He was able to help Megan with understanding stuff her own teacher could not explain and he was able to assist the new teacher with how to explain things. Could Amanda approach another teacher for help?

DYK- I did a quick reply - not sure where it went.

DYK- Megan had a similiar issue last year with a new teacher and was able to approach her study period teacher (also a science teacher) to explain things and he in turn was able to help the new teacher with things.

DYK- On more than one occasion, Megan was able to prove to the study teacher she had the right answer(s) on a test/quiz

dyk actually she approached her chem teacher from last year and he's willing to help her...which is great

dyk but I also worry that even if Amanda gets the right answers, the teacher may not know what the right answer is!!
